Looking to aquire a baby girl beardie and I am trying to find out if an 90 gallon tank is to big for her she is about 1 year old. Any info helps thanks
Well wait, when you say baby girl are we talking about baby beardie? Sorry! I just want to clarify because sometimes I refer to my adult boy as a "baby" haha.
If its a little baby I would go smaller just so you can maintain things easily for her and she can hunt for her feeders easier as well.
A 90g tank should be fine for a 1 year old. What are the dimensions of the tank? As mentioned, if you can get the UVB lighting mounted at proper distances and provide a heat and UVB gradient along with some space to climb and move about it will be good.
Keep the 90gal. if it proves difficult to regulate temperatures just put any type of divider within the tank to reduce the space available, cardboard would do good as its a decent insulator. Why buy more stuff when you can utilize what you already got.
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
