Tales of Thresh and Fizz *Update*

Hi everyone!

So Deb was amazing today and came over and helped me pick out the new baby for the family. Except he isn't so much of a baby. And he may also may not be a he. :lol: He's from the same clutch as Baron was from, so his birthday is March 10th! And holy moly what a healthy juvie.

Even though he is a bit small at 12 inches, he can eat. Let me tell you, he can eat. Deb got pictures of him eating when I first gave him food 5 minutes after him being in the tank. 2 bowls of roaches later and a bowl and a half of baby bok choi and he seemed content. SO. PICTURES. I only got 3 before my camera died.

The last two are kind of crappy...But the camera was making angry red flashes at me and I was trying to get some.

The pics of Thresh at your work looks like she has more red on her chin and the side of her head with a little bit of yellow, and more yellow (light coloring) on the top of her head and the rest of her body with red "highlights" on her side. She's really pretty and I'm sure she looks a lot prettier in person than she does in pics. I noticed her back looked redder in the pics where she's on your bed than she did at your work.

The ones at work are a lot more accurate to her colours, I find. It's much brighter there then even in her cage, so the phone doesn't have to work as hard to get an accurate shot. So many people thought she was a statue until she would move. Most of the adults were terrified of her, but kids and teens thought she was the coolest thing.

She is beautiful and I'm glad the rice sock worked, she sure enjoyed sitting on it and the pumpkin. Glad the day went to well for you both & that a lot of people thought she was beautiful, too. She's going to get more colourful as she gets older, amazing & that beard :shock:

It was a good day yesterday. I spent most of it in the bedroom with Thresh until her lights out at 9PM. She kept throwing herself at her door to run around around 7, so she got to come out and run around a bit on the bed but she ended up sitting beside me watching me play a game until she got put back for the last hour of her lights. What a cutie.

I start another 6 day work week today. I'm going to lose it soon and not even -moneymoneymoneymoney- is enough to get me through with enough energy for the evening to do what I want to do. It's exhausting and I can't wait for this to be over with to go back to my now 5 day work weeks. One of those days is only 3.5 hours. I wish it was at least 5 so it would be more worth it but oh well...35 dollars is better then none.

Jen's mother in law is over from Korea. She leaves end of next week, but last Wednesday and the Wednesday coming up she's taken off to show her mother in law around Vancouver/go shopping. So I've been covering her Wednesday because no one else can do the job(my other co-worker has school in the mornings). I don't mind, almost 80 hours in 2 weeks which is great. But exhausting.

Honestly? Aside from the few ads I've posted for free on sites I haven't touched them. I'm so busy I just don't want to deal with it.

Help!

I gave Thresh a bath and lately she's been swimming more so she pooped, I went to clean it out and I picked her up to clean her off a bit cause it was not a super solid poo(probably from the swimming), and I noticed she was breathing a bit heavier and she was wheezing.

Help. The last thing I need is for her to get sick right now. I'm so worried. I've noticed before when she swims hard she'll breathe a bit heavier but the wheezing, never present.
She shed her nose and I thought I got all the retained shed out of her nostrils but there was a little bit of loose skin hanging from her nostril this morning and she's been scratching that part on her face more too but I didn't think a whole lot of it. Could something be in there and something wrong?

Not at all sure what could be causing the wheezing, can you use some tweezers and get that piece of shed out of her nostril? or your nails? Keep her warmer than usual at night & give it a couple of days & check her out again. If she's still wheezing, she might need a vet visit to see if she has an upper respiratory infection. So keep checking her. If that's the case we'll get a time and I'll take you to my vet, she's a good vet and less expensive, as I know you don't have one near you. Let me know, I'm still off work anyway for awhile so we'll figure this out.

I checked her before her lights went out, nothing seemed abnormal. I held her up to my ear and it sounded fine, too. But I'm going to keep an eye on her for sure. The skin seems to have gone, so she must have managed to get it out. I turned her temps up, and we'll keep the window closed(the heat stays on for Arya but it makes our room smoking hot, so we open the window a bit. Just to cool it off to 70-75 degrees.) too. If it gets worse, or otherwise, I'll let you know.

So the wheezing seems to have stopped, though she's still breathing hard after she freaks out/swims during her baths. I'm going to get a syringe and some pure cherry and apple juice and see if she'll take that instead so I can avoid bath time.

Work has me drained physically. My throat has been clogged with phlegm(yuck!) for a week, and today I am stuffed up and coughing like no tomorrow. But I'm still at work after downing some buckleys and hoping that will get me through the day. I get Friday off, Saturday is Brandon's Birthday(which I work), I get off 2 hours before he gets home, so I need to run home and set things up since we'll be having people over. Will be cleaning and baking all Friday to get things ready for it, too. I'm hoping I'll be feeling better by then, I don't know how much I'll be able to do if this cold keeps up.

Then I get Wed/Thurs/Fri off next week, Thursday is my birthday, turning the big 21. Brandon and I are getting a hotel room downtown and are going to go to the Circle Christmas Market and relax. I'm going to need it after these two weeks. I'm drained!

Unfortunately, me being so drained, I haven't been spending as much time with Thresh, or any of the pets. Going to take Thresh out at 7 today, 2 hours after I get home. It'll give her enough time under her lights and her plenty of time with me. I feel so guilty about it, not handling her as much as I used to.

I know you have a busy schedule, but can you get into a clinic to check your chest, you might have an infection that needs antibiotic, or get in next week if it's worse again. You sure have a lot going on! Your birthdays are so close together & getting a hotel room for yours is a wonderful birthday present. Guess you just need to rest & keep taking Buckley's for now, it's supposed to work big time. There are so many colds and flus going around, I'm sort of glad I'm home (even if it is boring) to avoid getting sick on top of everything else.
