good morning everyone!!
well i have some really cool news ...
Lexi gave me another poop this morning!!!
i was going to post a pic of it ... but wanted to warn or ask yall if you minded? i dont ever mind looking at pics of beardies poops ... but some people dont wanna see it, which i totally understand. i do know however, around here, we are awesomely weird crazy people that actually like to see beardie poop to evaluate it. we are just nuts. so just a heads up i guess?
ANYHOOOO ... it was feeding time this morning, she was taking her Carnivoure Care and chicken baby food, some squash and zuccini babyfood ETC and everything else she takes when i saw the back legs movement ... that undeniable movement we all know so well ... the lift up ... the squeezy tummy ... the POOP.
it was ALOT of water, i suppose b/c ive been
hydrating the absolute heck out of her, but also there was this WONDERFULLY formed poop!!! i was in shock. i was like" YES LEXI YES!!!" and a nice little urate too to go along with it. oh man, this is great. i guess those roaches did get digested!!! wow. wow. wow.
so she got her food and meds this AM, and she is basking right now. i tend to let her sleep in a little more than Blue right now b/c i just feel like she needs that little extra hour of sleep. she has never had a day/night cycle, so i know its alot for her to get used to. and she deserves all the good rest she wants. God knows, that girl deserves it.
so we have a pretty solid routine now. the heat does seem to drain her an make her tired while she is under it, but that seems normal too. she has the option to move but she doesnt, lol, she takes it all in. and i mean coming from somewhere where just the ambient temps alone probably never got over 80 (just a guess) and then where the probably also dipped down low too, being directly under a 90 - 105 degree heat source is im sure also a shock. but a GOOD ONE
i think the 75w is going to be a good fit. im going to check it in another hour to make sure it is staying right at about 100. i have been picking and choosing my money battles with her, so instead of getting a fixture and mouting the UVB, i just cut a linear hole the screen where the UVB bulbs rests no there is nothing in the way between her and it. i figure she is going to be in this tank for a while until she gets better and stable, while i work on getting her one like Blue's custom viv. i cant do the whole screen thing ... taking everything off then on then off then on ... i need those sliding doors like Blue has. is that totally lazy of me? ha!
plus i really like the guy that made hers. i would totally buy from him again. but thats gonna be a little while.
i think right now having her in a smaller tank like she has isnt actually such a bad idea really, its secure, and she is only basking in the day and sleeping in it at night, she's not roaming or exploring or running in it, so im ok with it for now.
she gets excersice when she is out, she walks around the room i am in when i put her down. she can be a little explorer out of the viv!
but yes, everything is new to her. and she is adjusting more and more i think. if im right, i THINK this is day five? i think. i think it was Monday i got her. ahhh i have to look back at my posts.
PICS TODAY! PICS TODAY!!!!!! pics pics pics today!!
