So how did your beardies get their names?

There are so many interesting names I see here on these boards, I'm just curious how did we come up with them?
Freddie was named after the Beardie in Nims' Island. Bad movie, Jody Foster is just so wrong in that role. But anyways, my 9 year old daughter who had wanted a Beardie for a while announced that when we get a beardie she's gonna name him Fred. And she did, and HE really is a he named Fred. I was worried that it would havta be Frederina for a while. That's my boring story. Liz

I am frustrated! As you all know Im getting a new dragon who I picked out a name for. I told my husband the name I picked out and he dosent like it. My first dragon is Puff as in Puff the magic dragon song. There is a second person mentoned in that song Jackie Paper a little boy. I thought Jackie was a good name for a dragon. But my hubby dosnt like it. So my question is does aneybody have an Idea for a name for a female dragon? The name should go with Puff and be dragon related. Maby anuther P name? I dont know, I just wish he liked Jackie as a name. Lisa and Puff

My babies name is Elliott too. I absolutely loved Pete's Dragon when I was little. Well...I still do!

When I got my first dragon I was reading the latest Eragon series book and was loving Roran's fierceness in battle. So I named my male Roran. When I was getting two females from HowlinGaleDragons she told me the mothers name was Saphirra from the Eragon series! So I decided to keep with it. One girl is yellow with blue side bars and elf like eyes, so I named her Ayra. The other was a burnt orange and brown, very smokey, so I named her Elva for her dark beauty. I know I am a dork, reading is a passion of mine and I love those characters!

Tiantha was the name of my make pretend dragon I had from the Dragon Riders of Pern series. Read the series as a child and decided I had to have one. Invisable to others or not..

I later as an Adult turned said dragon into a Player Character in an open form Game called a LARP (Live Action Role Play) When Tiantha, then without a name, was left as a 'Wonderful Unwanted' I picked her up and she looked at me cocked her head and put those claws into my heart.

Done. I had my living Tiantha.

And she opened the door for a baby... Rex is from Howling Gale Dragons and his full name is Howlin' Rex. His was chosen for another character I had made up for the Star Wars Universe. Rex meaning King. So the combination was used. It fit him when I unpacked him and he looked up as if to say 'About time' and 'Where is the viv'. Ever sense he's been Howlin' silently all over my house and being King of the hill.

The only one outside a human who puts him in his place is Tiantha and only when she is in a mood and gives him sink eye and head bobs back Viv to Viv. The I see him waving.

So that's the twosome.
