Yes you do have to rub lotion on them every 3 or 4 days, other than that their care is pretty much the same. I love my silkback very much and this thread was not started On if people think silkies are right or not.I am not trying to be rude, I am looking to hear from other silkback owners so please be considerate and keep negative options to yourself. Thanks

Interesting; I've never heard that before. What kind of lotion do you use? And where did you get your Silky? He/She is beautiful :D

The lotion mainly is help for shedding but keeps their skin so soft (kinda feels like the skin on your eyelid). I use Utter Cream without any fragrance. I purchased Thor from Ed Clark reptiles in NJ (he has beardies for sale under username Alphadog on this forum) Thor was shipped to me in beautiful health. :blob5:

First of all I am not a Dude I happen to be female and second I did a lot of research on the breeder I purchased from, most of the bad posts seemed to be lover bickering with a lot of comments also that you posted. I also know ED has quite a few very happy clients. I am sure that there is not a breeder out there that has not had a customer complaint. With me being a vet tech I have already ran a fecal on Thor the first day I received him which came out negative and it has been 2 weeks, I have not had any problems with relocation stress, he has a great appetite and even eats his collards and turnip greens for 2 months old. I have no problems with people options, I know that silkbacks are not for eveyone. I am just saying I would like to hear from other silkback owners and not turn it in to a bashing thread! I really don't think that's a lot to ask for.......

you have a beautiful little beardie there! I'm so intrigued by silkbacks; they are genetically pretty wild. I hope Thor does well with you, keep us updated! :)

Do you use Utter cream because it is more natural or thicker or ??? Just curious, really.

Yes I am really intrigued with the genetics of them also  When i first got him, there was no way he would let me hold him, but now I have him drinking out of a syringe like a champ and hes getting quite comfy. The udder cream is a lot more nauteral and slightly thicker in texture. Works great and does not leave a greasey feeling.

I'm sorry, but she said she does'nt want to hear opinions about her silk. She only wants tips from other people who own them so please refrain from telling her how nice it looks

BTW and this is completly off topic, but if you are a vet, why do you need tips from other people?

I guess I started the situation goin on here.. my oppinion doesn't count for anything and I apologize if i offended you. I wasn't pointing your silkie out to be a ugly or wierd dragon...I was just commenting in general. I really think your silkie is quite the looker. The markings seem to stand out much nicer. They do get my curiosity running about them. So once again I hope I didn't offend you in any way.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
