Nice pics.
You should get rid of the sand and replace it with tile, non adhesive shelf liner, paper towel or even newspaper or repti carpet. Also, if that stick on thermometer shown in the fist pick is the only one you are using you will want to pick up a digital one with a remote probe. That way you can get the exact temperature from the surface of his basking spot, the stick on ones are off by between 10-20 degrees normally.

I am actually talking with my cousin about making him a custom tank. I do have a digital thermometer but just don't have a place to put it. I actually want to use just dirt(don't know if it's the best though) in his cage but when I got him from my sister in law she had the sand in there. I have been told by many people not to use it and it is a big pain with his water dishes.

The only recommended substrates are ceramic tile, non-adhesive shelf liner, repti carpet, paper towel or newspaper. I prefer the tile as it is very easy to clean and keeps Havoc's nails trimmed so I don't have to. Water dishes in the enclosure are also not recommended as it will raise the humidity which could cause respitory infection in your Beardie. Most Beardies do not drink from water bowls and get their needed moisture from their feeders, salad and the baths you give him a few times a week.
The digital thermometer can be stuck to the side of the tank on the cool side and the remote probe placed on the surface of the basking spot . The ones I buy have dual zone reading so I get the cool side and basking side temps.

Well, I wanted to have his habitat as close to natural as possible? You're telling me dirt is going to be bad? Also, I do have a humidity gauge in there. I know the other poster told me the gauges could be off by 10 either way but it never had gauged it to be humid in there. In his tank I have his water dish which I have seen him drink from. Then I have a "bath" thing in there that I refill every day. It's a stout, wide, bath like area.(He loves to just lay in the water.) Also, I thought that beardies needed a humid environment. That is at least what I was told or read. I can't remember.

As far as using dirt. When I was talking with my cousin who is building an enclosure with stone like you suggested, I was thinking of maybe doing something like half half stone tile.( I would have the tile covering the entire floor though. But if the dirt is going to be harmful I of course don't want to use it. If it's not harmful I would like to use the dirt.

No, the dirt should not be used at all. As for all the water you have in there it is not good, Beardies need a very dry environment the high humidity can cause respiratory infections. Instead of having the bath container in the enclosure you should take him out and give him a bath in warm water a few times a week.

Well I think that if the water is in there and it is still not humid(because I refill the water every day.) then that should be fine right? The worry is water causes humidity but if it's not(maybe because I live in a dry environment, I don't know.) then I should be okay leaving it in there. I have a humidity gauge and it has always been below the normal amount.

Just asking, not trying to come off as rude.

It's at 35 and it says normal starts at 40 and goes to 80 for the max level of "normal". It's called a hygrometer.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
