Sarth, Daeds, & Starling **5/28 First Camping Trip Pics!**

I figured I would post some pics of Sarth...even though he hasn't been eating very well the past month he still finds every opportunity to be cute! I think I might just keep adding pics to this thread along with my blog, we will see!

I thought this was adorable...he was kind of lounging against the glass, looking at me like "what?!"

Him still being really mad from the vet's visit the night before. He looked so hilarious, all puffed up with the black beard. I started petting him and he deflated while managing to look confused.

Tried to file them but his fingers are too bendy. I love the wtf look he's giving me.

Just a couple new pics...and I forgot to update his thread for his 11 month hatch day on Friday So excited we're almost at a year now!

Random one...he likes to sit behind my computer monitor. This time he decided to stare at the wall for 5 minutes.

Is he starting to get man boobs? :shock: That chub doesn't go away when he's walking around, lol!

Just a few more days til Sarth gets to meet Dud Maybe they will defy the odds and be best buddies :mrgreen:

I can't wait to get him! I'm totally using him in a light box photoshoot while he's here!

Sarth looks like such a sweet boy! I'm glad he started eating, and from what I've seen, he's started to get some chub! Your boxer is so cute! I have a white boxer and she really doesn't know what to think about Khomez.

Ah, another Minnesotan! I love meeting others from our.... Rather chilly & hot ( we never really get the middle do we? ) state. Although this week was actually really nice and sunny

Ack sorry it's been so long since I've posted! Crazy past couple weeks. Sarth got to visit with Dudley for a few days of course, those pics are in Jess's thread though . I was out of town for my brother's wedding, then back for a quick 3 day work week and then the last couple days were spent up north camping. I had wanted to bring Sartharion with us but there was no way of insuring the weather was going to be nice enough (which sadly it was, lol >.<). So he stayed home with a pile of greens and a bowl full of roaches.

So I haven't had a ton of time to take pics. But I do have just a couple!

We had a crazy t-storm the night hubby and I picked him up from Jess's place...luckily it was lovely the next day so I took him outside for a bit...happy colors!

I guess leaving him all alone over the weekend was a bad idea, lol. I came in the room this morning and he was basking normally on his new platform. He saw me and his beard slowly started turning black. Then he marched over and took some bites of his leftover crunchy greens, it seemed to me in a spiteful way LOL. Then he puffed himself up and bearded again while simultaneously glaring at me. That's what I get for ditching him apparently!

I made peace by picking up the roach bowl and sticking it under his nose. He eyed it and ate one freshly molted (white) roach and its "shed" (gross), then stalked off and glared at me from behind his branch :roll: There were only 4 roaches in the cup and I think I had about 8 in there when I left on Friday, so hopefully the other 4 got eaten instead of escaping.

It's another gorgeous day out so more outside time for sure after work!

edit - thanks Jake and Ciara! He kind of went off his food again just before he went to stay with Jess, I had been spoiling him with hornworms. Looks like being alone with nothing but the roaches changed his mind though

edit again - I totally forgot about this pic! While camping his mom caught a *wild* hornworm! It was really cool, the color was a bit different than the ones you buy, and the "horn" was black instead of red and a lot stiffer, felt like you could actually prick your finger on it. There aren't any tomato plants up there though so I guess they must live on mulberry trees? I don't even know if those exist up there either, lol.

Wild hornworms are wierd! I think I found one a couple summers ago... It was little at first, and then I found it again a couple weeks later and it was massive. :shock: They are really freaky!

Small update, Sartharion is refusing to eat brown roaches. I mean really lizard wtf!? I managed to dig out *3* white ones yesterday along with a normal colored one and he gobbled up the white ones like it was his last meal, then ignored the brown one :roll: This morning I picked him out the more orange colored ones and he ate all of those so maybe he's finally starting to get hungry enough to eat what I put in front of him

So some exciting news, a friend of my husband's who has a 2 yearish beardie (also from the same place I got Sarth!) is moving to a sober house and wanted to know if I'd watch his guy for him until he got back. Of course I got all excited! So possibly today or tomorrow Sarth might have a new friend

I know I need to post viv pics...I haven't had time to go buy his decorations!

Thanks! He is getting dropped off tomorrow evening sometime. I don't know too much about him except that he's got a decent tail nip, his feeder is supers right now (though I'll start giving him roaches once those are gone), I'm pretty sure he is kept on play sand, which I may or may not remove depending on his owner's feelings about it. I don't even know his name! Guess I will find out tomorrow.
I do know that he keeps later hours than Sarth, I think hubby mentioned he goes to sleep around 10pm, which is awesome since Sarth is lame and is in his hut wanting to sleep at like 4pm
I guess this is one way to get another beardie into the family, if only temporary, help a friend in need :mrgreen:

Yea he is growing slowly! In the past 4 months I'd say he's only put on a little over an inch in length but about gained about 100g :shock: Now his growth spurt is over and he's being picky about food again though.

Will post some pics tomorrow of our new guy, hopefully they will like each other as much as Sarth and Dud did :lol:

So we picked up Daedelus today! He is a monster, 503g when I weighed him :shock: Not sure on the length and he does have a decent tail nip, will have to measure him later. Here's the little thread I made with some of his pics.

I gave him a bath and clipped his nails right away when we got home. Sarth was hanging out on his branch so we put Daed on his basking rock after his bath while we got his tank set up. Sartharion didn't move but gave him the stink eye for about 10 minutes.

Then as I was taking Daed out, Sartharion decided it was time to flip out. He scrambled down from his branch and immediately black bearded and started stomping and scrabbling against the glass :shock: He was maaaad, lol.

So that's kind of lame, no sitting side by side like Sarth and Dud .
I took Daed and wrapped him up in a soft towel and left him on the couch to veg so I could calm Sartharion down He got over it - briefly that is.

Then all of the sudden he spots him on my chest as I'm leaning over to plug in the camera:

THEN he takes off towards the glass and starts scrabbling/bobbing/bearding again. I hid Daed and gave Sarth some reassuring pets. Then Sartharion somehow saw enough of Daed's back to start scrabbling and bearding again:

So after that I had to go put Daedalus away :roll: Daed did do some small bobs and arm waving in return to Sarth a couple times, so I'm wondering if he is actually a she? I did the tail check thing and didn't see any definite double bumps. I'll have to post some tomorrow morning. He is 2 years old though and has never laid eggs :| So who knows.

Oh, and Daedalus took the hugest dump I've ever seen earlier. Fortunately he went on the flagstone and not the shelf liner. His owner said he typically doesn't poop for like almost 2 weeks so when he does they're always giant...hopefully with frequent baths I can get him on a better poo schedule and also make him less smelly!

I decided to try a community bath earlier and I've discovered that Daedalus really likes to swim. This greatly disturbed Sarth when he saw a big fat lizard shimmying towards him. I took him out and place him on his towel and there was much head bobbing to be had

Daedalus also pooed while we were out at the fair and a little bit more in the bath. I'm glad he's becoming more regular, I really don't want to see another terrifying turd behemoth like yesterday :shock: I think he is happy to be off the sand though, he pretty much has had 0 relocation stress. I wish Sarth ate like he does
