Good girl! It's great when they learn to hang on and go outside of their house. So much easier on both of you =)

So cute that your "squirrel friend" (he/she needs a name ;)) was waiting for you this morning and actually hopped to you waiting for you to set down the bowl. :p Bet he LOVED that mixture of food you gave him a little later on, what a yummy mixture. Guess he was hoping you would come back out with another variety of food for him. He's spoiled already too.

Great that Callie came back too. Sounds like you were equally happy to see each other today. :D

Isn't that something how Gianna waited ALL day for you to come home & didn't want to poop in her tank. What a smart girl and she knew she didn't want that staying in her tank with her, we all know how vicious poops are. Great that she listened to you and even moved forward before she cleaned out. What a good girl.

I'm still trying to get used to the notion that Gianna has to go potty outside of her house. She had always went potty in her house, right by her couch, and would never beg to come out to play until she'd done her business.

I am late in responding, I am so very sorry about Pookie. I know you did all you could for him. Though I don't always comment I did keep up. I am going to miss the Pookie stories, he was a one of a kind and the way you told the stories were hilarious. Again I am so sorry you lost him.

Thank you, Tonja.
I miss my Pookster so much. It's so weird not having him here, not having him be in charge of everybody.

It's funny how they change with their habits, Gina, but I would think it would be easier to clean up off the floor. You think that's why she's changed her habit?

I honestly don't know why Gianna suddenly decided to NOT go potty inside her house and would actually wait all day until she'd been taken out. Before she went into brumation, she would relentlessly beg to go back home just to go potty, then as soon as she was done, she'd beg to come back out. It's all a big mystery.

I had a very nice and unexpected surprise Friday afternoon.
While I was cleaning up the mess made by the squirrels/birds on the deck, I suddenly heard very faint meows. At first I thought I was hearing things (these days, anything's possible), then I figured that it was coming from far away, so I ignored it. Seconds later, I heard faint meows again, but this time I decided to look up to see where it was coming from. To my surprise, I saw Callie sitting on the deck, at the top of the steps, looking at me and meowing. She was calling to me! What surprised me even more was how she knew that I was on the deck, because normally she'd walk straight to the back of the yard and sit next to the shed, unless she had already done that and saw me. So, of course, I walked over to her and said my hellos, then scratched her head and back. She kept letting out very soft meows the whole time. Then she suddenly walked to the middle of the deck, where we always sat to eat meals, and looked down, then back at me. Of course, I asked her if she was hungry and wanted food, and she looked down again as if saying "yes". I gave her her favorite tuna&egg wet food, but for some reason, she didn't want any, not even from the spoon; all she did was lick the food then backed away. Seeing that she was very hungry, I brought out the dry food and placed a small handful on the deck floor, and she gobbled the kibbles up right away. I gave her more, and she gobbled those up right away as well. In total, she ate probably a half cup of dry kibbles before walking back to her look-out spot at the side steps. Then after a few more minutes, she made her way into the woods to look for something to pounce on.

I think she is acting more & more like her parents. Digi used to do the same thing, right?

Callie was waiting for you, she knew you would be going out there on the deck eventually. How cute she was using those soft meows. :) Guess she wanted kibbles today to clean her teeth. Hope she visits you daily now.

Even she's too smart for me! :laughing6:

Callie surprised me again today. Up until now, she never came out when it's raining, even if it's only misting. Well, a few hours ago, I happened to look out of the kitchen window to see if it was still raining, and I saw Callie walking up to the shed. I couldn't believe my eyes! Of course, I had to make up her dinner and go outside. As soon as I opened the back door, she immediately stood up and started to make her way to the deck. I stood just outside the door, not wanting to get too wet, and waited for her. When she was about 10 feet or so away, she broke into a trot to and up on the deck. When she had walked a few feet towards me, I retreated back into the house and out of the rain, then poked my head out and told her to come inside to eat her dinner. That was when surprise #2 came - She meowed at me, but not in her soft meows. It was loud! And when I retreated my head back inside, her meow was even louder, as if she wanted to be sure that I'd heard her protest. She did, however, walk as close as 3 feet of the door, but wouldn't walk any closer than that.

So, of course, I had to weather the rain and walk outside to feed her dinner. She ate everything but about 4 morsels of (wet) food, then slowly made her way into the woods again. And yes, she was wet.

In my mission of searching for old photos for someone, I came across a bunch of baby Digi photos that Barb had in one of her threads. It sure was bittersweet to see them, and see how much Gianna looks like her Mama.

The new (old) ones are the first 31 photos, before the UPS truck photo.

Even thought Gianna seems to be the twin to Pookie, now that I've seen pics of Digi as a youngster, there is so much of her in Gianna, too. Gianna is a wonderful mix of both her parents, ahhhh :love5:

Those pictures were SO adorable. Unbelievable how much they look alike. I think she has a lot of both of their personality traits and definitely communicated with both of them. She is a very special girl. :love10:

So nice that Callie came to see you again today regardless of the cold & rainy weather. Too bad she wouldn't come in out of the rain, she sure came close though. So funny how her meow told you that she wasn't ready yet but that she wanted you outside with her instead, of course you listened. ;)

I think I'd been suppressing my emotions and grief over Pookie in fear of upsetting the girls.

Since last Friday, I'd been incredibly emotional but couldn't bring myself to cry, until Saturday night. I totally lost it when I went to bed and ended up crying myself to sleep.

Then, this afternoon, when I was signing a (Grand)Mother's Day card from my babies, I caught myself in wanting to sign Pookie's name, because after Zim's name, it'd always been Pookie's. Within a microsecond, I burst into hysterical crying because I'll never sign his name to anything ever again.

Oh Gina, my heart hurts for you but I'm glad you're releasing your grief over Pookie. It will only do you good. It's so sad to know that but he's still in your heart and will always be there. I wish I was there to give you a big HUG but it will have to be a cyber one. :(

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
