I had a thought cross my mind. Can animals get PTSD? The news I was watching about all that mess Sandy left, then the noeaster that came after, they were mentioning that people will probably get some form of PTSD and I was thinking that maybe Gianna has developed the same thing maybe. It's the only thing that seems to make sense.

Please don't compare this behavior to what Zoey went through, you're gonna drive yourself crazy.

Have you double checked her temps since bringing her back? If not, it would be a good idea to do that just to make sure all is ok.
Too late, I'm already there.
Her temps are exactly the same as when she was at my parents'.

But shouldn't she had exhibited signs of that last week instead of now??

I'm not expert so I can't be sure but it may take awhile for it to show up, maybe it shows up when things get back to normal. I don't know how to deal with it in animals much less beardies. It's possible that all the noise of Sandy scared her then when things are back to normal she is afraid it will happen again.

Maybe she just got used to having alot of people/animals around, now she's in a room by herself & it's less noisy, so I think having a radio on all day will probably help. That's why I have the TV on all day in the bedroom and the living room, gives them noise & it really helps them stay calm. So try the radio. Lonzo used to love listening to music all day & he had defnite ideas of who he liked & who he didn't. Now he listens to kids all day (we have a TV station up here that shows kids cartoons from early morning until 6:30 at night, so that's what they listen to all day) and really enjoys the sounds. So give that a try, maybe just being in a silent room, then hearing something she can't see, is what the real problem is. Good luck! And please don't think she's Zoey, because she's not. She's very healthy, just getting used to a different space. Just keep us all posted. And Diane's right, if you're not calm, she won't be either, they do pick up on our emotions more than you'd think.

I agree with Deb, Gina. I bet going from a place where there was noise and activity happening all the time to a quiet, empty room is freaking her out a bit. Then she hears something or someone coming and can't see what it is, and she gets jumpy and excitable. Leaving a radio or a tv on for her would really help. I leave the tv in the living room on when we are not home, and I also leave the tv in the bedroom on all day for Walter (our savannah monitor) he loves it! She will settle down, it's been a rough week or so, she needs time to relax and she will. I hope you're able to calm down and rest. I always go to the worst possible thing when my beardies are acting strange. I get all worked up and tangled in bad thoughts in my head, but I have to calm myself, breathe, and remember beardies are strange little creatures in a world of giants. Any little change throws them for a loop, and they decide when they are over it. All you can do is be consistent with your routine, and give them love and cuddles. Soon enough she will realize it's still you and she's perfectly safe..

Turning on the clock radio yesterday did help alot, as well as making enough noise to announce my presence. However, when I came home tonight, I found Gianna curled up in a ball inside her tree branch. She must've been there for a long time because she was stone cold, but she did manage to eat more than half of her greens and had a poop. Perhaps Zim had been moving more today than yesterday and at one time startled her?

Guess where Pookie decided to sleep tonight? He was on the floor of his house behind the shelf that his tree branch sat on, already dozing off, but after I was done fussing over Gianna and walked back out into the living room, I saw him slowly making his way up onto his tree branch, and eventually he climbed all the way up to the very top . . . exactly the same spot where he used to sleep on as a baby and where Gianna had been sleeping when I don't tuck her inside her tent. THE SAME SPOT! Pookie hadn't slept there in such a long time. It's so weird that he decided to go up there tonight.

Me, too, I was worried for both of you. I think Pookie has "daughter ESP", can't explain it any other way. They seem to be on the same airwaves, that's so touching! Hope Gianna gets really used to being in her new space. I'm glad the radio being on helped.

Holy crap! Thank god for Zim's intuition and good timing!
A little while ago, Zim had walked upstairs, stood in the middle of the hallway, and looked at me for his usual "go ahead, go tuck yourself in on mommy's bed for nappy" approval. Just as he turn around and took 2 steps towards the bedroom, he suddenly froze and was sniffing something on the floor. Thinking he had found an escaped cricket from last night, I dismissed it for a brief moment but as I took another look, I realized that it wasn't a cricket but Gianna. She was just sitting there, in the middle of the hallway, allowing Zim to sniff her. OH MY GOD! I have no idea how she escaped from her house, since the screen was up and there's only a small corner where she could've squeezed herself through, but it wasn't easily reachable from her tree branch.
Thank god she didn't decide to go elsewhere. EGOD!

Holy crap!! Not lucky she escaped but real lucky that's as far as she made it. I'm glad she didn't get lost or injured and it was a quick recovery.

I know! She could've easily hid under the bed or dresser or closet, or anywhere at all, instead of sitting in plain view (well, in Zim's plain view).

When I went to pick her up, she didn't have the slightest bit of stress marks. I wonder how long she'd been sitting there watching me, waiting for me to realize that she was there. Brat!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
