Of course, my mom totally yelled at me for hand feeding Gianna this morning.

Your mom sounds a riot! Because now, of course, she'll be expecting Mom to feed her all the time! I'm sorry about the mess you had to clean up in your house, Gina, but I'm sure glad to hear the electricity is back on. Guess you'll be glad to get your babies home. Are you going to wait a bit? Or are they already moved in?

yeah, if it wasn't Pookie telling her telepathically, I think Crash or Coco may have... they won't eat from their bowl unless they are offered a couple bites by hand... spoilt, I tell ya! But what is a slave to do?

I never thought I'd be saying this in my entire life, but it actually feels weird to be back home.
It took about an hour to pack everything/one up and into the car, then about another 1.5 hrs to bring them all in and unpacked. While bringing all of the stuff inside, I had to leave Zim in the backyard so he wouldn't open the front door and bolt. Well, given he had already freaked out while we were loading up the car at my parents' house, he really lost it when he kept hearing the front door open/close and car door/trunk open/close. He cried so much both times that I thought he was going to lose his voice. After checking out the house and finally taking me word that we were here to stay, he went and hid in his cage for about an hour, then came upstairs to eat some dinner. He's now comfortably sleeping in the bedroom.
Thank god that I'll be working from home tomorrow. That should help Zim settle back in, instead of being left here alone and having a nervous breakdown. I wonder how the beardies will react to seeing their home again, especially Gianna. Poor girl finally got settled in and now she'll be in a new room again.

At least the electric is still on! I know it's going to be difficult for Nim & probably Gianna, too, but isn't it nice to finally be home? Are Pookie, Digi & MoMo sleeping? They won't even notice then. It is good that you're home tomorrow, be able to reassure Zim that you're home for good. I know it's been hell on you being away from home for so long, I'm just glad there wasn't any structural damage to your house :D You'll all feel better soon!

My poor baby Gianna. She had been totally freaking out every time sees anyone move past the bedroom door. This morning, she wouldn't even allow me to pick her up to comfort her. When I finally was able to pick her up, she would take a flying leap out of my hand and right back into her tank, then hide behind her stuffy. It took me about 5 minutes to finally be able to hold her in my hand without her squirming. I then took her into the living room to give her some crickets. At first she only wanted out, but then finally ate 2 and wanted out again. I held her for a short while until she decided that hiding inside my PJ top was a better place. Somehow that made her calm down and feel safer. Unfortunately, I couldn't leave her there because 1) I still needed to work and 2) she needed a bath, to which she did really well. She went back into her tank after the bath and was sitting on top of her tree branch, but as soon as she catches eye of me walking into the bathroom, she freaks out all over again.

What's really weird is that when we were at my parents' house, she was in open sights of the world. Granted, she wasn't in the family room with everyone, but whenever anyone went to the bathroom or walked up the stairs, she'd see it. Also, everyone had gone over to her to say hi throughout the day. How could a simple room change cause this much fright? God, am I going to end up giving her a heart attack?? :(

But she didn't freak out like this when I moved her to my parents' house. What is it about my house that makes her so upset?? I mean, minus my parents, it's' still the same group of people -- me, Pookie, Digi, and Zim (MoMo was hardly present as she hid in the cave most of the time). Zim would walk into/through the living room at least twice a day.

I couldn't even comfort her the second time I picked her up. She kept running away from me and once even flew off of the top of the couch.
I don't want her to hurt herself by ramming against the glass :(

Hello, Gina

They sure do like to make us worry, don't they. I'm wondering if she's worried that you will move her again to another place, maybe she's tired of being moved from place to place.

Gina, I wonder if the movement past the bedroom door is making a shadow? Maybe take a closer look and if you think that's it, turn on a light nearby her and perhaps that will help. Good luck.

I have the bedroom door only partially opened, so she couldn't see anyone walk by. But she doesn't even have to see a physical being, because just the mere sound of someone coming starts the frantic pacing and ramming against the glass.

At first I thought that perhaps having the door wide open so she'd be able to see who's coming and going would be better, since she had open access to all activities at my parents' house, but that was what started the whole ordeal. Even if I made noises prior to being in her sights, she'd still freak out.

I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm on the verge of tears. I don't want her to die from stress.

Gina, please try to relax. As you know beardies are VERY smart and can pick up on our feelings. So, before when she was at your parents house, she was out in the open and could see everything? And now she is in a bedroom where there isn't much activity? If that's the case, that is a big change for her and she is reacting because the house is quiet most of the time and then when she hears a noise, she reacts to it.

You know what might really help, having a radio on for her. We used one for a beardie when she was younger a while ago and now use one for Loki since he is upstairs, he really seems to enjoy it. That may really help with her jumpiness, I would turn the volume up high enough for her to hear it but not too loud. She is probably going through some relocation stress too.

She was only at my house, in the bedroom, for 2 days, and half of those were in pitch black darkness. She was perfectly fine with being in the bedroom on Sunday afternoon into Monday night, and even when I removed her from her tank and packed her stuff up on Tuesday.

The last beardie that acted like this was Zoey, minutes before she passed away.

Please try to calm down, if you're nervous, she's gonna sense it. Sometimes relocation stress for a baby doesn't kick in for a few days. I've heard of some babies being in a new house for 3 days, eating & acting fine, then the relocation stress kicks in and they are jumpy and their appetite declines.

Please don't compare this behavior to what Zoey went through, you're gonna drive yourself crazy.

Have you double checked her temps since bringing her back? If not, it would be a good idea to do that just to make sure all is ok.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
