Hi - can anyone tell me how long it is safe to keep a beardie out of their heated viv? I get Sullie out everyday but only for about 10 mins in total but have seen pics on here which suggest they are out a lot longer??

I think as long as you give him 2-3 hrs after eating to bask you can take him out anytime. Let someone else chime in for sure though.

At nine months they can be out for several hours if you have allowed basking after eating. Also this only holds true if your home temp does not fall below 65/70 degrees. Good luck :D

Hugo gets out a few hours each day. I set up a basking spot on the floor with a ZooMed Lamp Stand. If he gets chilled, he will run over and sit on the slate under the lamp for a few minutes. Then he is off, and running. :D

Harry wants to be out of his viv all the time. I usually keep him in until he basks and poops then I take him out and he does his best to stay out for the rest of the day. Is this okay or should I put him back in after a while. He always is cold when I finally get him back in and I am afraid of respiratory issues from him getting too cold, but he seems to like the cold better than the heat. What should I do :?: :?: :?:

Well it is about 70 in my house right now, but it is New Hampshire and July. It will be warmer in the winter because I have a wood stove solely for heating and it tends to be super warm. But Harry will go to the kitchen floor and find the coolest corner and sleep there. It can be cool. I feel his belly and instantly want to warm him up, but he gets mad.

Looks like my feed has been robber lol although I've seen some good advice as I'm scared to leave him out more then 10 or so minutes, also, sullie doesn't seem to bask, he stays on the floor of his viv all day! I also need to ask about basking after eating, should I not be feeding him at 8 pm and then turning him off at 9pm?

I am kinda new at this but I wouldn't feed him at 8 then turn the light off at 9. That isn't enough time to digest his food, in my opinion, but hopefully someone else will chime in and answer this too.

I throw my guys on the leash and take them outside and a controlled setting. They love the real sun and soak up the natural UVB. safety first of course

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
