I'm moving back to Ontario and I can't take my beardie with me but no one seems to want to adopt him. If I can't find someone to take him, what do I do?? Where else can I take him?

Call all your local pets stores and any humane societies in the area, maybe you can find someone who will take him. Have you tried puttin a ad up in the free forum?

Yes, I put an ad up in the "For Free" section, I also just put an ad up on kijiji. I have a friend in town who says he will take him but I really don't want him to, he's an inexperienced owner and doesn't know anything about bearded dragons. I feel so bad that I have to give my little buddy away... I don't trust anyone to take good care of him!

It's going to be at least a four day trip, I just don't see how it will work. I'm sure no hotels will want him inside, plus his tank is impossible for me to transport in my car.

can't you find someone who will hold on to him for a few days/weeks and then send him by overnight shipping?
I know it sounds cruel, but lots of breeders ship their animals all over the country and they do just fine! And a few weeks of stress is less bad for your beardie than spending the rest of his(her?) life with a bad owner...

Sounds like a plan, and if the cage is impossible to ship, maybe you could get hold of a cheap one in your new place?? Lots of people here do take their dragons away with them, and take them into hotels etc ( i just wouldnt tell them lol)

As long as you have a heat light, and maybe a UVB (they can go a few days without this) he/she should be fine on the journey

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but as I mentioned in another post, I placed an ad on Kijiji and I found the perfect home for him! There's a lady who lives about an hour from my place, she used to rescue sick or abandoned beardies and nurse them back to health before finding good homes for them. She only has on right now and was looking for another, and she's going to take Spike for me. I still hate to see him go but am extremely relieved that I found someone who knows what she's doing and will take excellent care of my little guy. :blob8:

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
