Not eating greens!!!

:mrgreen: My bear die only eats zucchini and carrots! Nothing green..I did give him romaine but switched to turnip greens and now he won't touch them...

The only way I could get one of my beardies to eat their greens was by sprinkling their calcium powder on it, he would then eat every piece that some calcium powder touched. I slowly put less and less on it and now he eats them great. My other started eating hers when I started putting a little red bell pepper in with it. She won't eat the bell pepper itself, but will eat every last bit of her greens and squash if the pepper is in there. I spray it down with water after I add the pepper so the flavoring gets over all the greens. I don't know if this was it or if she just decided to eat them one day, but either way, she cleans her plate now.

Hi when we have trouble with our dragons eatting greens a trick we use is an old snake breeders trick. if he enjoys a feeder or veggie or fruit, rub that on the greens the smell of what he knows he likes will attrack him to the greens (but you have to rub it on them not just add them to there food they are smarter then you think and will pick out what they like leaving the greens)(with snakes when you need them to eat a bigger feeder you take the feeder he's used to eatting and rub the scent on the larger pray they don't think twice about it they just know it's what they like). Also stay away from any yellow greens they are bitter and that will turn them off quick. Hope that helps, it's always worked for us. Linda.
