Norbert's day to day *Pic Heavy!*

Ive been wanting to make a thread for Norbert for a while now, so here it goes! This is Norbert's day to day life, his milestones, and just when I think he's being too gosh darn cute! :love5:

I think Ill start from the beginning. Norbert hatched in mid to late February and is from Daichu. He is around 4 months old now, and has been nothing short of the perfect dragon! He's put up with me obsessing over ever detail of his viv, inspecting him over and over many times a day, and just being over all paranoid. He is my first dragon, and Im a very proud slave!

This is Norbert the very first day I had him, right after I put him in his first viv:

After I moved him into his current 40 gallon breeder...He seemed MUCH happier!

How old is Norby now? (Norby is the nickname I have started calling him when I'm telling the people I know about him, I hope you dont mind xD )

He's around 5 months and 3 weeks ( I keep track but Im not exactly positive of his hatchday, could be a week more or a week less.) And Norby is what I call him! Or different random names like "Norby Pieces" "Norby Bottoms" "Norby Butt", or "Norby Man"...I know, Im a huge weirdo. :roll:

Aww he's so cute! We just got our first beardie Skully, he's very little. I can't wait for him to get this big. We love to just watch him move around his cage And I know what you mean with the obsessing, is he eating enough, getting enough water, light , heat etc lol Ours is eating much better the last 2 days. I think he is finally getting settled in his new home. We love him Congrats on such a beautiful beardie!!!

Thank you for the compliments! It always nice to hear other people think Norbert is as handsome as I do.

Thats great Skully is eating well! I can't wait to see what he looks like! I love pictures.

Norbert didn't eat very well yesterday or so far today... Im pretty sure he has pinworms, so I'll be treating him for them next week. Hopefully after that his appetite will go back to normal. Im sure it will though.

He's adorable, and I really like your set up! I wish I could make Norbert's viv look more natural but he loves his hammock and blankies and stuffed animal too much. :roll:

Five months!? Are you serious?! He is massive compared to my seven month female beardie. My little girl is half the size, or less, of him! What if she is a pygmy beardie..... they would have given me the wrong one lol. I hope she will grow, she is tiny xD

I'm sure she'll grow. They all grow at different rates. Norbert was growing pretty slow at first, now he's growing like a weed! Just continue doing what you are and I know she'll shoot up. I think I read that they continue to grow up to 2 years old, so she still has plenty of time!

Sorry to hear about your Norbert.... Hope is feeling better soon. We just saw Skully in his water dish for the first time :mrgreen: !!! Maybe he will be shedding soon. Now if we can just get him to eat his veggies

So, I think I might have been wrong about the pinworms causing Norbert's appetite loss and lethargy. I've been PMing Tracie back and forth and she thinks (considering the pinworm count is so low) that he's actually going through a semi/partial brumation. I had not even considered that, being summer here and that he's only 6 months old, but she told me he is old enough to brumate and that some dragons here brumate when it's winter in Australia...very interesting. I think this explanation is probably a good fit, but I'm going to keep a close eye on him, regardless. She also said he could just be "slowing down". He'll be going to the vet soon for a check up anyway.

He was 349 grams as of yesterday. He's been growing SO fast!

Stella is slowing down a bit too. She only wants her bugs once a day, and she's grazing more on her salad thruout the day.

And while she still likes to explore, she's actually looking for a good place to take a nap, LOL

Norbert will probably get nice and hyper again for you next spring. LOOOOOOOOOL the boys are insane!
