Norbert's day to day *Pic Heavy!*

Ive been wanting to make a thread for Norbert for a while now, so here it goes! This is Norbert's day to day life, his milestones, and just when I think he's being too gosh darn cute! :love5:

I think Ill start from the beginning. Norbert hatched in mid to late February and is from Daichu. He is around 4 months old now, and has been nothing short of the perfect dragon! He's put up with me obsessing over ever detail of his viv, inspecting him over and over many times a day, and just being over all paranoid. He is my first dragon, and Im a very proud slave!

This is Norbert the very first day I had him, right after I put him in his first viv:

After I moved him into his current 40 gallon breeder...He seemed MUCH happier!

Well, thats my summary of Norbert's life so far! I hope you enjoyed seeing his growth, and will follow his life with me here as it happens.

He's about the same exact weight as Stella then!

Hubby and I are working on setting up the 4x2x2 for Stella (it arrived yesterday!) and it is HUGE. I mean holy cow. :shock: You think you can visualize "4 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet" pretty well in your mind, but when its actually SITTING in the middle of your living room, it's monsterous.

I would totally have that many beardies if we had more room in our house (I'm sure my mom wouldnt appreciate the cost either :laughing6

HAHA :lol: I hope I can make enough space! Right now I have 2 bookcases and a huge desk that I never sit at. :roll: Im planning on combining the two bookcases and getting rid of the desk to make room. Now, hopefully I can control myself and stick to just two...but I already know Im going to want to utilize Norbert's empty 40gal breeder for a third. :roll:

LOL right! :lol: He weighed in at 382 grams today. He's been growing like crazy the past couple months. I have a feeling he's going to outgrow his 40gal breeder, and Im gonna be investing in one of those big 4x2x2 suckers. That's ok, I REALLY want to either buy or try to build one of those stackable vivs so I'll have the space for a second dragon. If you are still looking around my breeder may be able to help you also. She was telling me that years back she had the first male who every produced red babies. She said his name was Scar? Not sure if anyone is familiar? Keep in mind, I'm just trying to help as I'm all the way into my 2nd day of being a beardie mom. I learned the hard way to look around and talk to people first.

YES! I want a crestie SO bad. Im definitely getting one at some point. Maybe I will use the 40gal breeder for that...I wonder if its ok that its longer than it is tall? It's still 18in tall, which I think is the minimum recommended height..Regardless, they're ridiculously adorable and I will be getting one eventually.

I'll tell you, being close enough to the breeder to be able to drive there is such a treat! Just to see how they do things and how they have everything set up is just amazing. I was there for hours as she showed me around. I got to meet Zoey's daddy and her sister. Daddy is really handsome and so sweet. Her sister is going through her beardie version of terrible 2s and she is a ball of fire!! lol She suggest I take this one, and I'm so glad she did.

Katie- if you're handy, you could convert his 40 gal into a "tall" setup.

-Flip it so the open side with the plastic lip faces you.
-Silicone in a panel of glass to cover 1/3 of the height.
-Put hinges on two doors
-Drill them into the lip
-Maybe also see if on the bottom panel (the on that covers only part of the height, then gives way to the doors) you could cut space for a vent.(Or, better, see if it could be done professionally)

After just a couple of days with one, I understand how someone could have as many as the could take on. They are just the sweetest little things, I never would have thought. My husband is starting to get annoyed cause I'm either with Zoey or on here reading. lol I guess that's the first sign of Beardie Addiction huh?

LOL, yes I believe it is.I still can't believe how much they steal your heart,or maybe they just do that to make you their slave :whip: .If i were to get another one my family would probably be kind of annoyed :roll: so I could only have one although i still want that beardie wall :lol:

You know, it's almost comical. My husband and I have our own routines and do our own thing at night. He is working on the computer and I am doing whatever. Now that I spend every 3 minutes running into Mariah's room to check on her, he is actually jealous. lol He wants not parts of her, obviously because he hasn't met her, and I can't wait to see his reaction first time he comes in the bedroom and sees her cuddling with me. LOL He is worse than the dog!!!!
