Norbert's day to day *Pic Heavy!*

Ive been wanting to make a thread for Norbert for a while now, so here it goes! This is Norbert's day to day life, his milestones, and just when I think he's being too gosh darn cute! :love5:

I think Ill start from the beginning. Norbert hatched in mid to late February and is from Daichu. He is around 4 months old now, and has been nothing short of the perfect dragon! He's put up with me obsessing over ever detail of his viv, inspecting him over and over many times a day, and just being over all paranoid. He is my first dragon, and Im a very proud slave!

This is Norbert the very first day I had him, right after I put him in his first viv:

After I moved him into his current 40 gallon breeder...He seemed MUCH happier!

Well, thats my summary of Norbert's life so far! I hope you enjoyed seeing his growth, and will follow his life with me here as it happens.

Oh I know. He's acting like a big child. Even when we attempted our first soak last night, he was literally right around the corner and showed no interest. The dog however would have had his nose in there if I would have let him. lol My other half is getting on my last nerve with this jealous thing I have to say!!

Katie- if you're handy, you could convert his 40 gal into a "tall" setup.

-Flip it so the open side with the plastic lip faces you.
-Silicone in a panel of glass to cover 1/3 of the height.
-Put hinges on two doors
-Drill them into the lip
-Maybe also see if on the bottom panel (the on that covers only part of the height, then gives way to the doors) you could cut space for a vent.(Or, better, see if it could be done professionally)

I don't think this would work with Norbert's tank. He has one of those 36x18x18 exo terras, with the glass doors that lock. Maybe I could put a piece of plexiglass or plastic or something down the center and make it into 2 smaller, tall tanks.


And I definitely never expected for Norbert to steal my heart like he did. I know that anyone who sees me with him must think I'm crazy with how Im constantly fussing over him. I make sure I tell him how handsome he is everyday. And every night we snuggle in bed and my boyfriend just looks at me like Im insane. :roll: But I tell him "Norbert NEEDS his snuggles, and so do I", and thats the end of it.

That's so sad that he doesn't even show any interest in cute little Norbert.I mean how could ignore that face :love5: .And dogs always seem to have their face in everything :roll: .Yes beardies definitely NEED their snuggles and my siblings always question why i care for him so much :roll: Sometimes people just don't understand .

My boyfriend likes him, just doesn't understand why Im so obsessed. He has bought him a ton of dubia though.
He just doesn't like Norbert to be "on him", or even on the bed while he's on it. :roll:
He always says he's too sharp. LOL Plus...Norbert has this habit of jumping on people's heads at the first opportunity, so I guess I can see how that would make some people a little nervous. :lol:

It sounds like he loves him (not many would get them roaches!!), he just doesn't know how to admit it. He may need a therapist to tell him it's ok.

I was hysterically laughing when you said he thinks he is too sharp. lol There is not really any question that a beardie is def not a declawed cat!! LOL Please understand, I'm NOT being mean! This is just my sense of humor.

LOL he always tells me I need to cut his nails shorter or file them down, but they're really not that bad. He's just being a baby. :roll:

And he really does leap up on your head! The first time he did it to me it did kind of scare me cause I wasn't expecting it. But now I can see the look he gets when he wants to be on my head, and I expect it. Haha. Some times he'll climb up my shirt to get to my shoulder, then jump on my head. Or sometimes when we're sitting on the bed he'll climb up a pillow and jump on my head from there. :lol: Then he'll just sit there for as long as I let him. So far the longest has been about 15 minutes. He's such a weirdo! (And I guess so am I for letting him do it).

I would have freaked out if she tried to jump on my head too, especially since a week ago I insisted I would never touch " a lizard". lol

The breeder said one of hers curls up in her hair and sleeps like that all night, he never even got up in the middle of the night too look around or poop. Just so I dont' get myself in trouble...don't do this with a little one!! They are liable to take off never to be found.

He usually jumps up the side of my head and uses my hair to climb up. lol I let him sleep on my shoulder sometimes at night, but I never tried all night before! I think Id be more afraid of accidentally rolling on him than him running away.
