My Beardie Leo has been bruminating for 2-3 months now but he sleep in his cave away from the UVB light is it normal/ok for him not to have UVB for this length of time whilst brumating?

Dragons are built to shut down almost entirely for brumation. so it is fine if he doesnt have access to UV light. Many breeders and multi-keepers will completely shut off lights once a dragon goes down.

if its an adult dragon then yes it will be fine. If it is not an adult(sub 6 months) then no it really is not ok. The first 6 months are crucial for uvb. Honestly, if you dragon is less than 6 months, or even less that a year, he really shouldnt be brumating anyways.

thats not always true. It all depends on the dragons size. I have seen dragons go down as early as 7 months old and it was find as the dragon was over 19 inches long and 400+ grams. Too much emphasis is put on age with brumation thats why many folks freak out when their large 10 month old start showing signs. If the dragon is adult sized it is completely safe (so long as proper precautions are taken, such as a fecal exam prior to going down)

While I get your point, I have to say that there aren't too many 19", 400g, dragons out there. Age isn't the ultimate measure of growth but if you have a 7 month - 1 year old dragon that goes down in to a full brumation, it should raise a red flag and if nothing else trigger a fecal exam. I think it is even more fair to say that if you have dragon that is 6 months or less go down then that should really raise a red flag.

my dr. evil was 21.5 inches at 7 months old and 500grams went down to full brumation at 8.5 months old and scared the hell out of me, cause everyone on this forum says "they cant go down that early"
but with a little research and after contacting a few herp specialists that i know, and after a fecal exam, i found out it is normal as when they grow that fast their body needs to rest and recooperate.

Now im not saying this is the case for the OP just saying that it is completely possible.

Anything is possible which is why a fecal should be the first thing to be done as you and I agree.

With that said, are you pumping your dragons with roids or something?

Well, how big is he? I recommend getting a fecal exam to be sure he is healthy. If he is then he will come out of it.

What kind of lights are using? UVB and heat? What are your temps and how are you taking those?

He is roughly 16-17" weight wise im not sure he was fine before he started sleeping in his cave daily adn any time i wake him to give him a drink or bath he seems fine, sometimes he has a crazy 10-15 mins jumping about his cage.

His temps are fine ive been down that road already, i use a digital thermometer with a probe, i have a Repti-sun 10 and i wouldn't say he's lost any weight in the time he's been down.

Reptilian Growth Hormone injected daily lmao

Na he just was a fast grower. His offspring are the same way.

And to the op. If you dont have a way of measuring his weight from when he went down to now you cant know if he has lost weight a difference of 60 grams isnt easily noted by hand. I highly suggest setting up a appointment with a vet so that a checkup and fecal exam can be done.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
