Hey guys, this my first beardie. I've alway leopard geckos and decided it was time for a bearded dragon! Any tips and ideas would be awesome!

Hi there, welcome! I too owned Leo's before beardies and they are quite different! What is your set up like? If you give us a run down (substrate, exact brand and type of lights etc) we can give you pointers and help to give your new friend a great long life :) how old is the fella? If you'd like to attach photos we will gobble them up! (Not litterally, we all enjoy seeing every beautiful dragon out there! At least I do :p ) www.beardeddragon.org/useruploads then in the respond section press XIMG to add the photo!
As for tips, a varied diet will go a long way :) I feed my babies a staple of crickets Phoenix worms and their greens, throwing in super worms (for dragons over 16inches that is) silk worms horn worms and occasionally pupae stage mealies (very rarely!) to keep them interested. If you live in a generally warm area (over 80 ferenheit is generally reccomended) take your beardie out on a leash and let them bask on your lap or run in the grass. It does wonders for their health (natural UVB is free, after all!) and they will really enjoy free roam or just the warm sun. Enjoy! And be warned, it's hard to stop at one!

See beautifuldragons for list of foods.

NO PARTICULATE BEDDINGS.

10 - 12 % UVB is required for bearded dragons.

Recommend 14 -16 hour lights (UV (A & B) and basking globe) on per day except when inducing brumation.

Enjoy your knew spikey child. If you do everything right ,you'll soon have a lovely gentle cat-dog who will genuinely enjoy snuggles with you.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
