So my bearded dragon is shedding and is running around its cage then it goes inside the water then he just stops and lies down is there anythiing i can do to help him? Can i still take him out and carry him?

Yes, you can still take him out and carry him, just be gentle and do not pull any of the shedding off yourself.

Maybe give him an extra warm soak or two this week. That'll help with the shedding. It's a pretty stressful time for them, so once he is done, he'll calm down. :)

the baths will help the skin dry up and fall off faster. does he have a rough log in the viv? they will drag themselves around on it and rub their faces on it to help get the skin off.

I'm new to this too... I adopted 2 males, one a large what I guess I'd call adult and his cage mate a young adult. My younger male, Kimberly (poor guy with the girl's name, thanks to my 5 year old son), just shed on his feet, jaw and soon looks like the top of the head will be next. He is doing just fine with his food and acting normal.
My big adult male, Buddy, on the other hand is driving me INSANE! He is not eating his salad as he used to and is making a mess of the cage and water dishes by thrashing about everywhere. He gladly ate all his crickets today but is still running amok. I seem to recall the last time he shed I noticed his wild behavior but don't remember exactly. Could I be right in this shedding causing his restlessness or can it be something else? I'm in Southern California and have had really nice weather so I've been taking them from the cage and putting them outside in their patio enclosure. This may sound stupid but is he getting spoiled with the extra exercise? I'm giving him a bath tomorrow... maybe that will calm him down?
Thanks!

Hello. I am in So Cal, too. :D No, it's the shedding. I take mine outside on a leash. They just go a bit cuckoo sometimes during their sheddings. It'll pass.

Thanks for the quick reply! I just checked on Buddy and he seems now to just be hanging out like he normally does. So bath and leash shopping tomorrow, ha! ha!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
