Im wondering if the plants are ok in the pots and if theres any dangers to having them in the cage with the bearded dragon, i dontknow how to post a picture on here could someone let me know?
as for live plants i wouldnt do it for 2 reason dirt harbors bugs, parsites, baceria 2nd reason is it increases the humidity way to much for a bearded dragon
and as for the pictures here u go
1st, you need a photobucket or something of that sort
2nd, you upload the image on potobucket
3rd,copy the "direct link" under the picture in potobucket
4th,go back to bd.org and click the img button when ur posting
5th, paste the link between the code it will genrate and thats it ur done
the humidity isnt too bad its an open top, but yes im concerned about bugs and parasites, i do keep the cage very clean though. its just such a better environment for her i find
i Just want everything to be perfect, i want her to be as happy as possible. ive read a lot about them but still need a lot of help with her, any would help with the cage design/setup. thank you
ok by anymeans do whats best for you i am not going to tell you ..you cant do what u want a lot of people do things there way and there dragon comes out just fine the only thing i see that might be an issue is ur beardie can get up close to that light what if she was to jump on it and some how get a gip on it and get stuck up there and burn ur dragon might want to make it so she cant get up that high or make it so basking is on another side
also u shouldnt be using bark as they could possibily swallow it and cause an impaction i would suggest using slate tile
whats with all the diffrent light?? what are they??
different light? well i have her basking light, a heat lamp so its warm on most the left side of her home, and one other light so the other half of the cage isnt dark, its a 54"x32"x24" enlosure , does the whole cage have to be lit? i heard it had to be bright because of something to do with the dragons eyes/pupils. i had slate tile in there i found it was hard to clean with her shedding and feces and she seems to love to bury herself in the shells, do you have any other suggestions for a substrate that she could sort of burrow into that wont cause impaction? and i did take the plants out and replace the coconuts after seeing a few bugs in there, thank you for the help
and ps. she did jump onto the light, you were right but luckily i saw and took her down but am afraid she could have burnt herself, would there be any visible signs? i checked and she seemed perfect as usual!
Are you using a UVB light at all? And the entire cage doesn't HAVE to be lit, it really doesn't make any sense if it still gets dark at night and you'd have to turn the lights off.
Yes the Sunglo is a MVB, light and heat. Make sure that's at least 12 inches away from your dragon. What is the humidity with the plants? Make sure you're using a digital thermometer w/ a probe or a temp gun to take temps and humidity. Bark is a very unsafe substrate and I would take that out and temporarily replace it with newspaper or paper towels until you get a nice substrate. Slate tiles, reptile carpet, or non adhesive shelf liner all work nicely. Also, with the pics, if you copy the image code under the picture you won't have to use the img button on the site.
