Besides the stress marks being from lighting/temperature, what else might cause stress marks and how long do they last?

I just adopted my beardie on Saturday.

Relocation stress. Give him time to settle in, which can take 2 weeks or sometimes less or more, just depends on the dragon.

Since you just got him or her on saturday, I'd say it's probably still relocation stress. That should go away soon with some filling meals :)
They can also get spooked by quick moving objects or people. Also loud noises can make them scared. It will still take some time before your beardie trusts you completely, but he/she will come around. I've had my guy for about 7 weeks now, and he gives me stress marks when I don't greet him when I enter my bedroom. It's like if his personal space is being invaded, then he stresses out and tries to puff up his beard a little ( he is starting to realize he actually has a beard, if you could call it that now lol). But once I pick him up and hold him for a bit, his belly goes completely white.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
