Mdf vs. Oak?

[Grumbles]

Which is better to build an enclosure with and why?
I have no problem using mdf for my enclosure, just wondering what everybody's opinion is.

MDF = $

there's it in a nutshell.

If you have the cash to lay out for oak, by all means, it'll last you for stinkin EVER, but even if you need to replace an MDF enclosure (which you shouldn't really need to for a long while) it'd be replaced a few times before you caught up with the cost of a solid Oak one.
