Hi there, so, I'm trying to find either a standing light fixture holder or a clamp holder that actually works, for my heat light. Kind of like this or this. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Yeah they are expensive for what you get. They aren't super high quality (plastic knobs) but mine have held up for years and are super useful so I just sucked it up and emptied the wallet. They are just tubes that are clamped together sitting on a heavy flat piece of metal so if you're handy you may be able to build something similar on your own. The main advantage is that they can be free standing vs the Exo Terra which needs to be mounted to the side of an aquarium.

Well, my terrarium is setting on top of like a 3-foot wooden stand, do you think that could still work?
I see that the lamp stand is only 38 inches. Maybe I could put it underneath where the tank and stand connect? Kinda hard to explain but here are some pics. Here you go. That's how it looks slid over.

Also "Good Morning" from Bubby. :)

Good morning Bubby!

The bottom is a flat metal piece that slides under the tank and the weight of the tank acts as a counter to the weight of the fixture. Here's what they look like in action:

I use the same type as Cooper, I have 2 MVB's set up in my bedroom for them when they're out, and one that gets packed up with me. If you're just looking for one to hang your every-day basking bulb over the enclosure/tank, then the ones that are shorter and clamp to the underside of the tank or the top of the tank are great.

The best part about using one of those for your basking bulb (the ones that hang the light over the tank) is that if your temps get out of whack you can raise or lower your basking bulb easily and then lock it in. Way easier than attaching a "clamp lamp" or like the one in your first link, I advise against any of those with the "clamps", they move, fall, tilt, etc. constantly, drives me crazy...that's one advantage to building a custom wooden enclosure, the basking fixtures are installed in the ceiling and they are typically the kind that you can move/focus anywhere in the tank...and they'll never fall off, tilt, etc.

It's a hook that came with the fixture. Most fixtures have holes in the sides so you might be able to bend some wire to make something similar if your fixture doesn't have one.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
