Lexia,Kinno,Bobble,Chimaira&Hadyn. Pictures

Hello,

This is the story of how we got our two baby dragons. It all started when my daughter brought home a beardie the whole family fell in love with him. You know some teens get when they get moody *dont touch him hes my beardie* gah it hurt because everyone loved him and played with him fed him we all pitched in. She even go so moody one day she moved his viv to her room so no one could see or play with him. (girls and pms :roll: )So i made a thread http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=98235 * I want a BD for myself* i guess there was a few people who were in the same boat as me. Being a BD grandma is tuff! (She of course got over it and moved him back down stairs) I wanted to get one who might need a little more care or love thought first thing *rescue* I was checking cragelist daily not one bd post in the weeks i was looking. Then a breeder(DistDrag) posted on the thread letting me know he had 2 babys just hatched out that had small issues, one with a crooked tail and one with a leg that didnt work. They were the cutest things! I still had to get the ok from my hubby once he seen those pics he was hooked!! So he let me take them both! They were still way to young for me to get yet so we were happy to leave them with the breeder(DistDrag)till they were safe to travel. He kept us posted on how they were doing and posted updated pictures. The day came to where they were ready to be sent to us. Oh boy i was so excited i couldnt sleep and kept a eye out the window for them to get here! <-- that was me 10 fold lol I heard the UPS man drive up and i was out the door!

This is the one with the left foot that dosnt work(My hubbys) He/she dosnt have a name yet.

This is the one with the kink in the tail. I call her Roo short for Kangaroo.

Heres a comparison between Chimera and Roo.

They are both from the same clutch they are 1 month 1 week old and 6 1/2 inches long.

We will never let more than 1 of beardies to be out of their viv's at one time. Except for the 2 new babys just for a while so we can sit and watch tv with them to get them used to us. They both have their own vivs. I have to say ty to everyone! I have learned so much since i have joined! I dont think our babys would be as healthy as they are if it wasnt for all of you!

I finally have them trained to eat out of a tub. So no more crickets in the viv.

ooh ! ooh ! details! How do we feed our big Twitchie out of a tub so no more crickets in the viv :?: They're so jumpy! Do we need a big ole tub? We try to drop them one at a time in front of her but they do get away and last time we cleaned her viv we took out 25+ crickets that we knocked out of her driftwood

This is how i did it. I use a small container that i bring to their vivs that have the crickets in it and well the first few days i waited 2 hours after i should of fed them so they were hungry they get used to the sight of it and know hey that brings me food and they will eat out of the little container then i put a bigger one in the viv that the crickets cant jump out of and place the beardie inside then i put the small one inside and dump crickets from it and it took a few days of this to get them to get used to the tub roo didnt want to eat from it so she only ate salad because when her time was up i removed them she wanted them crickets bad the second day and learned big tub = yum yums and now i dont have a issue. Kinno is taking a bit longer. Hes finally eating them from the small container so thats one step down. Just takes time but oh is it worth not having to chase crickets in the viv.

Kino's colors remind me of a rainbow trout, beautiful.
I used to feed Bogie his crickets in a 10 gal aquarium. Just dump in crix add dragon. No muss, no fuss, no bother. Although after awhile I had to use a small fish net to "herd" them to him. Lazy dragon! :lol:

Kinno is in shead again he sheads at least once a month if not more he just finished not long ago :shock: Hes now 4 months and 19" n 320g I'm sure he would weigh alot more he dosnt much like his veggies as much as he did hes eating tons of crickets at least 100 to 120 a day. Since hes been sheading hes only been eating about 75 a day or so. With his size hes already eating what ever the adults eat. I need to start ordering 2000 crickets at once instead of the 1000 the babys are eating alot more too now that they have almost hit the 4 month mark.

The girls are growing like weeds Roo is 13.5 inchs 120g and Lexia is 13.5 inchs 95g.

Roo is scared really easy cant be near or see a window we moved their viv to the wall next to the backdoor so they cant see outside. This has helped Roo alot. My hubby thought he would bring the girls out for some play time and well lets just say Roo about killed her self running off the desk down onto the floor and ran as fast as her long legs could carrier her to a spot where she could hide. She ended up behind a computer took us a while to get her out safely. The window was open and a car pulled infront of the house kids got out to go to the yardsale next door and she freaked.
Lexia nothing bugs that girl. Set her out anywhere shes all good. Lexia started really sheading yesterday she rubbed it all off today she just has little bits here and there to come off.

Boy they sure do grow so fast. I remember when they arived they were only 6 1/2 inchs

Kinno is just.... unreal! He is going to end up the size of a puppy Christy I swear /chuckle.
Isnt it funny how Lexia is now the cool confident one and Roo is the fraidy cat?
Who wouldve guessed it.

I think we both brought our babies home within the a week of eachother so I consider them a benchmark for Miso.
Now she's on 25 roaches and 10 pheonix worms a day I hope to see her chasing down Roo and Lexia's size soon!

Wow, Kinno is getting big. I just weighed and measure his sister (Used to be big sister) last night. She's 18" and 315grams. I'm going to have to teller her to pick up the pace I guess. Glad to hear they're all doing well. Don't understand that Fraidy Cat Roo?

Yah know I don't know what happened I just started doing the girls like i did Chimaira had a set up at the front window where she loved to look outside Roo did really well then one day wham! She hates all the windows. I think she sees cars and people and think they are comming to eat her. She loves everyone in the family she comes to the front of the viv to be let out.

I think these guys are growing like weeds. They have been sheading every 2 weeks. Lexia just finished and is showing signs of going into shead again. Shes 120g witch is a 25g weight gain in 1 week. Roo is in shead and is at 145g she gained 25g in 1 week too! Kinno is almost finished sheading hes in the prosess of sheading his back n belly witch is taking forever. He only gained 10g in the week due to him not eatting normaly due to shead.

They are just wonderful lately its so awsome to watch them grow from so little and scared and unsure to them finding who they are and to see their personalitys emerge.

They are getting huge. It made me tear up when i looked at their baby pictures when they first arrived. Heres the diffrence.
