Why do so many folks decide on the Plexiglas doors for their viv? When building Draco's new home i found Glass to be much cheaper and it is far more resistant to scratches.

i chose the plexi glass because i'm dangerous around anything that isnt fairly tough lol!!!! i could see me hurting myself or my dragons with the glass, plus for me at least, the plexi was easier to get and cut, and even cheaper for me...

One of our vivs still have glass doors, but, after hubby knocked out the other ones glass, we replaced it with plexi. I also found it to be easier to work with and safer (especially for the more accident-prone between us :wink: ), but I did find it less scratch resistant than glass. It is lighter than glass and we found the plexi at the same price as we paid for the glass. I personally prefer the glass for the simple reason that it feels more solid than the plexi, but my husband prefers the plexi

This is Rocky's glass house. I also found it to be cheaper and my local hardware cut it to the size I needed. Worked great!!

This is Rocky's glass house. I also found it to be cheaper and my local hardware cut it to the size I needed. Worked great!!

Wow! That's a gorgeous house for a dragon!! Do you have a tutorial on how you did that??

No I didn't think to do it at the time. I build furniture as a side hobby and kinda came up with this one weekend. I have another to build for a friend and I've had others ask that question to so I might record the progress of the next one. This is a two piece unit and I just wanted to have something that would look good in any room in the house (kinda like a piece of funiture) and Rocky loves to watch people walking around the house so I built this one for the living room. The whole front is a glass door so it gives me great access to the entire cage when open. When I start the next I will post the progress on here.
