how to keep the temperature right at night?

i know you use lights during the day, but surely you cant keep lights on the poor dragon at night so how do you do it?????

well it wants to be pretty cold say 15*C (or 60*F) as its fairly chilly in the desert! (i'm sure you'll have some experience in that regard)

as long as it stays above 60 you will be fine without heat

If you by chance need a heat source at night you would use a Ceramic Heat Emitter. They screw into a fixture like an average light blub would, but you will need to proper fixture for it of course. I would think that a 100 watt CHE is more than sufficent for you. You may also need a Thermosat for it, so it will turn off and on automaticly durring the night. Since you live in a fairly warm climate it would not need to be on all night long. I have always been told by the moderaters that about 65 F is the lowest you want it at night. I personally have my tank at 75 F durring the night, he stays nice and toastie.

i have heard 65 and have also heard 60

che are the best if you di need one b/c they dont produce any light and they only raise it 5-10 degrees so it will be just right

i know in some deserts it can drop down to 40 at night not sure about australia where they come from though
