How do I attach reptisun into wood tank?

How would I attach a reptisun 10.0 into a wooden terrarium?

i would assume there is a way to get the bulb attached to the top of the terrarium, but how do i get the bulb to work? And light up?

You would have to get a light fixture that you would put into a ceiling and wire it with a female plug that would plug into the wall. You could then just screw it into the top of the tank and run your wire out a small hole in the back. Fill the hole with a non toxic clear caulk or silicon caulk.

Thanks, doesnt sound extremely difficult, what exactly is a female plug? where would i find fixtures that attach to the top like that?

This is what I use and it blends in nicely with my white melamine enclosure. As stated above you'll have to run power to the fixture but works great.

Thank you everyone. Do these fixtures hold reptisun bulbs?

I really like that prewired one, vertilux is it? Do you know if that fixture would hold a reptisun bulb? Ive read that Reptisun 10.0 isnt good for T8 fixtures? That it doesn't fit T8 fixtures? I wonder if the reptisun would work in that prewired one.

Reptisun 10.0 is a T8 bulb so it will work in any T8 fixture.

T8 is in reference to the diameter of the bulb. The larger the # the larger the diameter. Each T = 1/8 of an inch in diameter. I do not know what size bulbs that fixture holds. To be 100% certain you can always purchase a T8 fixture on other sites that specifically tell you what size bulbs it can hold.

I really like that pre-wired one, but it doesnt look like they make it in the size of this vivarium. the inside is about 40''-43''

so i could get a 36'' i guess.

Im not sure how to do the wiring on these fixtures, im not very handy and dont know how to use most power tools, i could probably handle using an electronic thing to get the screws into place though. which is why i am leaning twards a pre-wired one. does anyone know of the pre-wired kinds that would be about 36''-40''?

Or, does anyone know of any website that would thoroughly explain how to wire the light fixture? i think the first one said to cut off the other end of the plug. (makes me a little nervous)
