Yep it’s good to provide a hiding spot. Are you using a t5 high out uvb tube? If so it’s best to provide a hide in the cool end ( so he can get completely away from uvb and heat if he wants to) and to provide a hide in the warm end ( so he can still be in the warm end but no uvb if he wants)
It’s about providing a nice range - so he can choose what he needs
You can make one from polystyrene etc like the 3D backgrounds in the diy section, or even from a shoe box.
It can be simple or complex- whatever suits what you need
I have these ones now https://www.komodoproducts.com/komodo-large-basking-ramp.html I have this as a basking platform that doubles as a hide. The large is perfect for an adult beardie with plenty of room under.
I have this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Trixie-76193-Reptile-Cave-32/dp/B002YJS0YS in the 32cmx12cmx29cm and that is large enough for my 15” beardie and has room for him to grow also
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
