Yesterday I fed my juvenile Beardie a superworm ( The PetStore person said it should be fine) he ate two and I found what looked like a mashed up superworm in his food dish. I'm really scared, please help!
Superworms aren't usually safe to feed a beardie regularly. The exoskeleton is too tough for the beardie to digest. One or two a week is usually all I dare feed my beardie.
Larger beardies can eat 8-12 a week easily [ even more but they're a bit fatty ] but what size is your juvie ? If he's less than 12" he'd have a hard time digesting them, a few medium ones here + there would be fine but very small dragons shouldn't be fed supers. [ Although some people feed them small amounts of baby superworms ]
Just keep him hydrated....he may not eat for a day or so but should bounce back.
His colors have gotten pretty dark and his stress lines are more prominent, but I think part of it is my lights(Which I am currently replacing with a Zoo Med PowerSun UV Mercury Vapor Lamp 160 Watts) and he's been pretty normal, running around a little and basking, he gets brighter when I take him out. I'm going to clean out his tank tomorrow to make sure he's pooping and give him some warm baths.
I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
