The fish flakes give protien?

Instead of using the RepCal, can I just go to VitaminShoppe and get powder calcium?

What do you use for Superworms. I been grinding up Quaker Oats and putting in whole carrots. Can bread crumbs be used?

I don't bother grinding the oats. I just buy a container ( the really biiiig one) of Quaker and pour it in.
Yes, the fish food has protein ;)
You can get the cal from the shop, but make sure that it matches which ever lighting you are using, for the tube Reptisun, make sure it has D3, if a MVB then without D3.

Yup I get the same oats. I grind it up because when I need to change the oats out I have to "sift" the little guys out cause they are too hard to catch. I bought allot of babies so.... plus I just started the other day trying to make beetles

Yup, calcium carbonate powder. Just remember, it doesn't have D3 so you should only use it if your bulb is a mercury vapor.

I gutload my crix with Zoo Med Juvenile Bearded Dragon Food i got at the pet store for my beardie . She wouldnt touch them even with me adding water to it. When I bought 500 crix , I didnt have anything to feed them.So I added water and the crix LOVE it. eat it up fast! It has vitamins and minerals and protien, calcium and fiber . Trust me , it works , Kiku stays in a constant shed seems like , from growing! She is thriving beautifully on them. No, I dont dust them , she also eats phoenix worms.

Just a thought. Good Luck !

I actually have that stuff as well, and my beardies wont touch it. I started to feed it to the crickets. Question: do you crush up the pellets or just leave it as is?

Actually , I was adding water to it , but after a few days , especially if they dont eat it up , it starts to smell. some one here said to just put it out dry. so thats what I will do the next round. I would say crush it a bit . maybe put it in a baggie and beat it with something . I wouldnt put it in a blender , then you would have to clean that up , LOL less hassel to do it the baggie way.

I also like the dry kitten food idea. but like I said , I had bought that already and didnt want it to go to waste. She wouldnt touch it , but the circkets LOVE it. Some one said on here ( I read last night) that when you gutload crickets with calcium, they will die faster because they dont molt , but that food has calcium in it , and I had a LOT of molting going on!! They actually started getting TOO big ! So use it with confidence, its working great for me.

Yes I am also trying the cat food too. Just havent found one that has a "pleasent" smell. The cat food from what I understand has great protein, so that's good. I have 3\8 - 1/2" crickets so hopefully they gutload nice. I use Superworms mostly for my oldest, she pretty much wont touch anything else. But the baby I have eating crickets for now till he is bigger and can handle the worms.

Here is a trick I used with fish pellets because I didn't want to buy different sizes for different fish. Get a cheap pepper mill. Put the pellets in just like you would peppercorns and grind away.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
