Gina,I think they will do a biopsy (long needle into my neck) after I see the specialist on Thursday.

Sara,lmbo over here!!!

Deb,I think you're right in that Gem is going to take after his daddy (although mommy is pretty big herself) :D
I weighed and measured him lastnight....122 grams and 13.5''. He gained 22grams and 1/2'' in 8 days.
Wow,that must be a pretty big notebook that you have to keep track of your whole crew!

Barb,Gem thanks you for the b-day balloons :D I will try to update Thurs night about my appt,if not then I will be on Friday night to let you guys know.

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone!

Hopefully the Endocrinologist won't feel the biopsy is necessary and will want to try some medication first to try to get it under control, we can hope anyway.

It's hard to believe that Gem has gotten that big already, he doesn't look like the same beardie that arrived just a few months ago. He is absolutely adorable and it sounds like he really enjoys his cuddling. :p

I saw the endocrinologist Thurs afternoon. He said that my thyroid levels are "normal for me",and they are exactly the same as they were in 2004. He said "I hate to say this but all the symptoms you have been having don't have anything to do with your thyroid, your bloodwork does not support your symptoms.Speaking as a doctor I would suggest a radioactive scan and then a biopsy to check out the 2 nodules you have but 90-95% of the time they are benign, and in the 5-10% chance they are cancerous it usually would cause your levels to be off".MANY people have benign nodules in their thyroid and don't even know it.So basically I left without getting any tests done because the radioactive scan and biopsy would be THOUSANDS of dollars and there is such a slim chance that they are cancerous.I am a gambler so I will take the risk.
He told me he was going to call my GP and tell her that all my symptoms have nothing to do with my thyroid and that my thyroid levels are normal.
I just put a call in to my GP and am waiting for her to call me back. I am just gonna have her put me on some Zoloft.I think now that depression and anxiety are at least PART of my problem if not the WHOLE problem.
I am so frustrated that I still don't know what the heck is wrong with me :( Between the bloodwork (almost $200),the ultrasound ($677), and 2 doctor visits ($135) I'm in for $1,000 and KNOW NOTHING!
I will let you guys know if I find out anything but otherwise I really don't want to talk about this anymore because its so frustrating.
On to happier things.... I weighed and measured Gem Saturday night and he is 136 grams and 14.25''!!! :D
This weekend he shed his arms and hands and his head will be shedding any day now because it is soooo white. As I'm typing this he is puffing and stretching out his little beard. he does that every morning when he wakes up

Michelle, I'm sorry that you haven't found out what's wrong....I had something happen last year. Basically, my neck and right shoulder got so stiff that I could barely move it and it hurt soooo bad. I took Ibuprofren for a few days but ended up going to the Dr. because it was so painful and I litteraly couldn't rise my right arm or turn my neck. Anyway, they gave me muscle relaxers and pain meds (which made me super loopy) So I stayed home from work for a few days to give everything a chance to ork but it didn't so the Dr sent me to physical therapy 3-4 times per week. I have insurance but basically my co-pay is 25.00 for each visit and prescriptions so I had already spent $100.00 before going to P.T ($75.00/per week) I did that for 6 weeks and it wasn't helping so they sent me for shots of cortisone in my back, they sent me to a massage therapist, chiropracter and a SURGEON for a consult. I ended up with my original doctor who pushed me to get on anxiety meds and within 2 weeks, everything was fine!!! I spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars and took 8 weeks off work (which is thousands of dollars) and it turned out to be stress and anxiety....If we don't deal with things mentally, they will come out physically...Sorry for the huge post!!!!
Gemini is getting really big! Chencho is only 100 grams ahead of him and only 2 inches longer and he was born in April!!!! Barb definately sends us big babies!

Wow,everything you ended up going through with PT and chiropracters and it ended up being anxiety? I hope it's the same in my case.

Chencho is a big boy too! :D

Yeah, it was shocking...apparently I'm a "stuffer" I shove all of my emotions down until they come bubbling out of me through shoulder pain!!! Didn't see that coming!!! I hope it's the same for you too...It's hard because I feel like, even though I have problems in my life (and sadness) I have to keep my head up and keep moving forward. I chose to be joyful and it's hard to let myself have "downtime"...

Chencho's paretns aren't very big so I do hope that he continues growing for a bit! Belle is my biggest beardie, she's 21 inches. Mojo is 20 inches! Fez and Delila are little mini dragons so I would love a big boy!

Hi Michele, hopefully the meds you're asking the doc for will do the trick and you'll feel better.

Gem is such a big boy, he's growing so fast you can see it in every picture. The last one, his tail was just starting to shed and it's already done? Babies are wonderful shedders-it's like they esplode from one minute to the next. Lonzo went through a full body shed (at 7 yrs old, imagine) and it took him about 6 mo to get everything done. Each little piece came off on it's own time and it was all piecemeal. Poor Lonzo got lots of baths and as much sun as avail to help him out. Babies are so much faster with shedding, it's just amazing.

I just love all the pics you've shared, but I especially love the face on with Gem on his hammock. What a mischievious face that is. :D :D His colours are popping, too, with each shed. I really enjoy all the pics of his looking out your living room window. He's lucky to have such a nice view and he can see if anything moves! He's growing so much & so quickly, I'm glad you're taking lots of pics. They're only babies once, and grow so fast!

He's over 3 mo old already, but he looks older 'cause he's so big! What do you put in his salads? Good stuff, that's for sure.

"Hi Gem, even though we're all sleeping, we saw your pics before, you're a big boy!!! See you in the spring :D :D " Sweetie, Lonzo, Rubio, Leo and Didi

I'm glad your thyroid bloodwork is good, sorry for all the expense, :( it's stinks when you don't have health insurance, I can relate? But if I may say, you can have any test done and give them 10.00 a month, and no one can say anything because your paying something, that's all you can afford, just a thought.

Gemi sounds like he's doing great, isn't it cute when they do their morning stretches? I'll be looking forward to new pics when he's done shedding and your feeling better.

Have you ever thought that we are in the wrong profession?

So true. I could be the poster child for physical manifestations of mental stress.

Wow, I can't believe how fast Gemini is growing! He won't be an itty bitty baby much longer.

Michele, I'm sorry to hear you haven't gotten any answers. I hope the medicine helps you. I do have a quick question for you though. I know you made Gem a rice sock before he came, what kind of rice did you use? I need to make Lils one so she can be out with me more this winter.
