Fluorescent bulbs not safe?

I have been using a Fluorescent bulb on charlie for awhile now and i've just read that it not safe? Is this true, Charlie seems fine.
I decided to use this as the fittings for the tube are VERY expensive over here!

What bulb exactly are you talking about?

Some fluorescent are dangerous, but the reptisun 10.0 which is what we recommend here is a fluorescent bulb.

this is a link to the long tubes... (Its the same brand as the fluorescent)
I would get one but the fittings are expensive

P.S im talking about the bulbs not tubes

The long bulbs are Fluorescent bulbs.

What bulb do you have? A compact bulb?

Oh sorry, i've totally confused myself, yes im using a compact bulb are they ok??? should i switch???

Compact bulbs are generally not safe, but I have never heard of the brand you are using.

We only recommend the reptisun 10.0 fluorescent, and the arcadia 12% on here. All other bulbs have been linked to health problems. For both of these bulbs we recommend, you would need a fixture to house it in. I don't know about the prices in Australia, but you can get a fixture here for very cheap at any home improvement store. If there is one near you, you should look into that.

Yer im thinking of switching to a Fluorescent then, hopefully i can find a good fixture somewhere.

Hi there,

Zoo med is the company that makes ReptiSUN 10.0 so you don't need to worry about that.

However that bulb specifically, is not good. Only the long tube fluorescent bulbs are safe.
