Feeding pinky mice

What age do you start feeding pinky mice. I know it is not for everyone I just think my lad needs to put on some weight

pinky mice are usually only suggested for gravid females. If you want to put some weight on your little you can treat them with wax worms.

Squash is great for putting on the weight.

Pinky's could also carry parasites. I dont even use them for my gravid females

Don't feed to many waxworms those are like giving a human child a candybar to many isnt very healthy

If he needs to gain weight, its best to do it over time. Pinkies have a lot of fat in them, and used too often lead to fatty liver disease - not to mention the immediate impaction risk. If you choose to use wax worms (which I don't recommend) then be careful about how many you do use - they are very addictive. I would suggest adding butter worms to the diet. They are high in calories, compared to a lot of feeders, but they are also loaded with calcium.
