Thank you, he is adorable. They can be handled about 20 mins every other day or so. He hissed at me and squeaked his disapproval of my hand in his tank misting him. He will get used to it but everything is new to him right now. Yes I already love him as much as Em and Em...but now its Em and Em and Em

My chameleon didn't like to be handled but I stuck with her till she died of old age.

He's beautiful though. You take such good care of Emily and Emmett you deserve a new baby.

Hoping many happy years with him.
I love veiled chameleons just don't have room with all the tanks LOL. They like tall tanks. But you know that.

Have fun with Emilio! He's a cutie pie!

Thanks Kami...I just love all 3 to death and my 2 dogs lol. I have wanted a chameleon for a while now so did all the research on what they need and how to care for them..so his setup right now is ideal in temps and humidity. This monsoon system is the best and its set to mist 4 secs every four hours and it does keep the humidity up for him cycling like that.

Em and Em and Em are doing really well. They have all eaten and have fresh salads. I watched Emilio go after crickets and I tell ya he has a lightning fast tongue that stretches 3 times his body length. Never saw anything like it in my life. He moves so slow then kind of perches and rocks a bit then BAMM he has a cricket. Em is eating her salad well nibbling at it right now and Emmett doesn't know where he wants to perch, hes all over the place. Love my 3 babies so much.

Oh fudge! I thought you got Mr. Stumpy and had renamed him.

Congrats on Emilio! Chameleons are interesting to watch, but I couldn't have a pet that I can't pick up and play with. I guess they're not for everyone.

So, Emmett didn't like having another boy in the house, huh? That boy's too much :laughing6:

No I didn't gey Mr. and Mrs. Stumpy. I went yesterday to check on them and was told that they called to check on them and said an emphatic NO to anyone getting them. Apparantly they are fine being boarded and visited once in a blue moon. This little guy needed a home as he was the smallest in a tank of about 20 and they to are solitary. I hold him and let him climb on me about 20 mins a day contrary to what I was told. Emilio has never gotten dark, he's always a light minty green. If he were to stress and go darker green with brownish side bars then I would leave him be but he hasn't displayed any of that. He does like to sit on my head, the higher they can be the better. I really wish I could have gotten the Stumpy's but, its just not in the cards.

There was a chameleon at PetSmart that turned very dark and poofed up when it saw Pookie. It even bobbed a few times. Cracked me and the employee up.

I'm glad that Emilio stayed his light happy colors when you picked him up. How funny that he liked to perch on your head.

I just don't get the owners of the Stumpys. Why have dragons if you don't want them in their house. I think they have a mental issue, really.

That's great that Emilio will let you handle him so much, and no, I couldn't find him in either of those pictures!

If you look at the first picture you will see Emilio just poking through the leaves under the suction cup. He is not in the 2nd, that's just how I have his tank set up for him.
Andy is going to work from several angles to see if they will give those beardies up. They are paid up through June and if Andy has to he will <pretend> to tell them that its not right to board them and that he will no longer be responsible for them as he cannot guarantee their safety with all the snakes coming in. I don't know what will happen but I refuse to give up hope..may even call animal control and let them look into these owners and why they board them like this. If that doesn't work, next step is petitioning the courts for custody.

Well, I'm on your side re: The Stumpys, they should be in a home being loved like all dragons deserve. It's ridiculous that these people are leaving them at the pet shop when they could be with you being so well cared for. Good luck!

I had to change out Emilio's tank. Got rid of the bark and went with paper towels. I am afraid of impaction in him as his crickets go into the bark and also he cant see them when they burrow into it. Tossed some calcium dusted crickets into his tank and he went nuts for them. Love watching him drink water from his plant leaves also.
Emily and Emmett got tanks cleaned, baths and fed. The basking bulb blew out for Emily so had to go get her a new basking bulb. Emmett is running around all over the place right now. He has learned Emilio's cage is next to his and he climbs to peek over the curtains at Emilio, its funny to watch. I am going to have to make a feeding chart for the 3, what one likes the others don't, two love papaya and one mango, 2 like collards and one mustard. That way I am not wasting any foods in salads to have it gone uneaten. May do that later on today. Just finished cleaning the lizard room thoroughly. Washing their bedding and carpets now. Been a busy day.

I must be doing something right with Emilio's humidity, they wont shed properly from what I understand unless the humidity is right. Anyway, Emilio is in a full body shed and its just to stinking cute. He actually squeaks trying to rub it off in his tank against his branches. If he cant get a big piece off he will hiss and squeak till he gets it off, so funny to watch.
Emmett is going into shed also, his shoulders and back are getting waxy looking again.

You definitely are doing all things right with Emilio. I just stopped using anything for substrate for my geckos, wonder if he'd have a problem with just glass on the bottom. Worked great for my geckos, can see when the bottom needs cleaning, there's nothing there for them to get in their mouths when hunting crickets and they can see the crickets better. Easier to clean the bottom, too. Stays warm because they're in the warm living room, plus neither of them get on the bottom of the tank unless chasing crickets. Just a suggestion.

I'm so glad Emilio is shedding well, that's one thing I've heard is difficult for chameleons. He's such a cutie and so glad he doesn't mind you holding him.

He is in a screened in cage. The bottom is white melamine like stuff so I took all the substrate out and put paper towels. He goes to the bottom of his cage to poop which is better than him going on the plants that I would have to take out and clean every time. I am going to do away with the plastic plants and put an umbrella plant in there for him and a pothos plant. Will leave his sticks and vines though. They are safe for them and they can eat on them if they want to.

That's a good idea. Rocco has always had a fig tree in his tank, I spray the leaves every morning and evening & that seems to be enough humidity for him. He's almost 7 years old and he's doing really well. He seems to think it's spring, too, eating lots more than he did just 3 weeks ago. Bunny, on the other hand, has to lose weight. I weighed her and she was 47g! I thought she was a bit pudgy, but she's just fat. So now she's only getting crickets every 2nd day, same with Rocco, even though he's a good weight. Bunny was having trouble sticking to the side of her tank, thought she was having less calcium, but it was just the weight. She's lost a gram in the last week, so I'm on the right track. I was just feeding her too much to make up for the 2 eggs she lay last fall and not paying attn to her weight.

Emilio looks a great weight and it sounds like he's really enjoying his new home!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
