I keep seeing different articles on Dubia Roaches. I'm curious. I keep feeding my beardie(buddy) crickets with some veggies. Are dubias more nutritious???

Just to give you an idea, here's a chart with some common feeders. I prefer dubia's greatly, due to them being more nutritious, hardly smell at all, terrible escape artist, grow very slowy, and live considerably longer than most feeders:

Species Moisture % Protein % Fat % Ash %
Dubia Roach 61% 36% 7% 2%
Crickets 74% 18% 6% 1%
Silkworm 76% 64% 10% 7.50%
Phoenixworm N/A 17% 9.50% N/A
Superworm 59% 20% 16% 1%
Waxworm 61% 16% 11% 1%

I don't think this chart is going to look as pretty after I submit this as it does typed out but hopefully you'll get the general idea lol

Thanks! do you breed you roaches or just buy them. I saw one listing for $75 for 100. How many do you feed your beardie?

That's a little high I think, but it's according to the size of the dubia as to how much you might pay. I just started my colony a few weeks ago so I can't feed from it yet, so right now I'm ordering. I got my colony and my 1/4-3/8in dubia from a seller on this site, JDRoaches, his are 500 for $25 shipped, but they are small. I got my colony from someone here as well, twobeardedguy I think is his name. When I need bigger dubia's I get them from Dubideli.com but there are a LOT of dubia sellers out there. My youngest, who is almost 4 months old, 13 inches, and 165 grams eats around 60-100 a day, that is total for two feedings, but again these are 1/4-3/8in so tiny. The bigger the bug the less they'll eat but the same rule applies with dubia as far as not feeding larger than the space between the eyes. :D

Dubi are very good and there's a thing crickets can pass to your dragon. Dubi are easier to feed and depends on the size but dubi protein wise are like 4 crickets in one dubi.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
