so i've had my Jake for about a month which makes him 4 months old and i just wanted to see if he was growing properly. he's only shed once... i believe he's about 8-9 inches head to tail

He's super cute! He does seem a bit small though. My little guy was 8 inches at 8 weeks old. At 4 mos, he was 15.25 inches. What are you feeding him? Quantity & frequency? He should be eating 2-3 times per day and eating anywhere between 50-150 live feeders.

ok well lol.... damn petsmart employees.. first they told me no more than 15 crickets a day.. i didn't believe them so i've been doing close to 40-50 a day.. and hes not a fan of greens yet...

i feed him in the morning and evening... about 20 each time.. mainly crickets

he is small for 4 months, bless him Perservere with the greens, he'll get the idea eventually, but he needs alot more livefood than he's been getting. 2-3 times a day he should have the opportunity to eat as much as he wants in around 10 minutes, this could be up to 50ish crickets per sitting so it's a good idea to order your feeders online

They catch up pretty good. I purchased a female who was a bit underweight about a month ago. Since I've had her, she has put on over 80 grams & 2 inches.

I use a small digital kitchen scale, many on here use postal scales. You should be able to find a good set on ebay pretty cheap

ok i'll look into the scale... is there anywhere cheaper to buy crickets than petsmart... 100 crickets a day is close to $70 a week.. and also i tried thw whole feeding him in a seperate tank but he doesnt go for it.. he only eats his crickets if there in the same tank, is there anything wrong with that???

Super cute, Mine is around the same age and size she don't like cricket I just bought a lot of worms and going to start buying roaches I am getting so brave hahahaha.....

You can buy the crickets online alot cheaper than Petsmart. Try http://www.wormman.com so far he has the cheapest price per 1000. The prices on there have free shipping so 1000 crix is right at 24.00 shipping included if you live in the US. Not sure if they have an international site. I bought a 10 gallon tank to keep them in so they don't die off quickly. That is the price whether you want small or large ones. I was going to, but the local pet store I used to work for said he would order them for me and it would be around 22.00 since all I really pay is his cost plus shipping. Not to mention, I don't have to worry about being there when it arrives. Most places won't do that but the shop I go to will do it for me. I plan on buying my phoenix worms for him though.
