Does it matter what blanket I give to my beardies?

I have seen that practically everyone give their beardies blankets and even teddies sometimes. Is this safe, won't they try to eat it or ssomething?

You can give your beardie any blanket or stuffed animal you like. The only thing you need to worry about is with the stuffed animal(like you would with a human baby) make sure there are no loose items on it(eyes, nose, etc...) that the beardie could lick and ingest.

Other than that they generally don't try to eat them. They do like to lick things in their environment... so just use good judgement and you should be fine!

Beardies do love soft cuddly things to snuggle with believe it or not! :wink:

Ive seen a topic somewhere on here where a lady hand makes fleece blankets for your reps, she does them exactly to how you want them, and they are VERY cheap
Ill see if I can find the link again cos I want to order a few for my beardie and bosc.
As far as teddies go, as long as theres no loose bits they should be fine

I started my baby out in a wash cloth, he was so tiny then... Now he has a fleece blankie from the dollar store.

Ailsa... are you refering to Dawn(blondie098) who makes the personalized beardie blankies? Unfortunately, Dawn has not been on the site in a month. She does make beautiful balnkies. One of my beardies has one, it's fleece with her name embroidered on it.

I have a blanket for my beardie. I used to use a towel but when we tried the blanket he def prefered it. It is a baby blanket, really soft thick fleece. He kindof digs in it. He has bitten it before but it doesn't do any harm. At night, we put him in his blanket and cover his head. He will fall asleep immediately.

Puff and Pheonix have blankees that I got from the hospital childrens ward. My son has epilepsy and he picks up a lot of them at the childrens hospital. So I passed on a copple to my pets. Thay love them.
