Dehydration

Does wrinkles in the skin(on back) ALWAYS mean dehydration??

Not necessarily. Can you post photos? What kind of diet does your dragon have?

Not really - dragons have lots of skin so it's not a very good "test". Sunken eyes, sunken head fat pads and hard urates are more reliable indicators. They may look sort of "shriveled" but a healthy dragon can as well. Sometimes poor appetite is related too as good hydration is needed to digest food properly.

My beardie also has some wrinkles on his side-upper body but isn't dehydrated.
Make sure to give your beardie baths and drop water on the tip of his nose so he can lick it off,
and mist him at least twice a day. when you give him his greens in the morning make sure they are misted so he can get hydration in
from the hydrated veggies

Sorry I'm just getting back,
They are asleep right now. Tomorrow I can post a photo. They are healthy BDs. My older BD (7 months) is the one who is showing more wrinkles. It's along the sides on his back. His diet consist of sala- collards & carrots & dubias. They are soaked daily and sprayed mid day and afternoon.

Misting bearded dragons does absolutely nothing for their hydration as they cannot absorb water through their skin. Being a desert animal, they do not release or take in moisture that way. Misting serves only to raise the humidity in their enclosures, which is a bad things for them.

Beardeies can only take in water two ways - through their mouth or vent. That's it.
