Cricket Noise

I just wanted to say that I could never switch from crickets to roaches because the noise is so soothing, I love it.

Only ever bought silent crickets.

The noise would drive me up the wall, especially when trying to sleep!!

Trying to move to roaches but i havent found any shops in the UK that sell them Only can get crickets and locusts

I like it too, although it drives most people crazy. Did you know a group of crickets is called an orchestra?

Wait till one gets in your bedroom with a week of not sleeping you will be like this > . This has happened to me many times which is why I don't keep crickets in the house anymore.

Amen! lol I kept them in my room and I loved it. My mom and friends would come over and think there was a forrest in my room, especially at night. I always enjoyed it.

If it was Petsmart they were probably already dead. Seriously though: Don't buy from there. One of my friends through my boy scout troop had a leopard gecko that got bit (by an infected cricket). The bite became infected, and he didn't realize it. The gecko passed away about a month ago, because his parents didn't want to pay the vet bill.

The bite became infected, and he didn't realize it. The gecko passed away about a month ago, because his parents didn't want to pay the vet bill.

ahhh are you serious :| but i cant buy from no were else i cant order online cuz i dont have a credit card my parents do but they dont live with me and i bearly convinsed dad to get me a light from online and around were i live thats the only petstore around :| :|

I think it depends on how much the vet bill was. I have had to have animals put down because I could not afford the vet bill. Still a animal should be put down so they are not left to suffer.

Oh please. I work at Petsmart, the crickets are as noisy as can be. And being as how we have to count each individual cricket, there's no way you got dead ones handed to you. Perhaps they were quiet at the person's home due to cold/discomfort?
And, a cricket doesn't have to be infected with anything for the lizard to have gotten an infection; that was due to lack of care. The crickets should not have been left in the cage past feeding, for one- and for two, ANY wound can/will very likely become infected if it is not cleaned properly.

Please don't try and pawn off a kid's negligence on someone else. I'm not saying Petsmart is a heavensent or anything (there are SO VERY MANY improvements to be made!!) but it doesn't need some undeserved slandering about crickets. Those things often get more attention than some of the animals for sale as pets, sheesh.

Haha my roommate slept in my room one night and wanted to KILL me!! I love them and keep then in a closet type thing next to my bed! I grew up in the woods when i was younger it makes me feel like a little kid again!

You could always buy one of those Visa, Mastercard, etc. gift cards to use. I could be wrong, but I would think online vendors would accept those for payment.

i like crix, although my g/f hates the noise i think she's getting used to it. now if i could get spike and cinder to stop glass dancing on the weekends lol. nails on a chalkboard anyone?

oh superworms are also easy to keep and quiet as can be.

whatever you do dont buy from petco, i was buying 12 dozen at a time and for the last couple months they have shorted me like 25-50 crix each time. i stopped going and ordered from mike at premiumcrickets.com in bulk, he always give me way more than i order! I'd try roaches, but i know that my g/f would def leave me then lol. hornworms are awesome my BD's love them, they get full on like 2 lol.
