Carrots were some of the only veggies Jayne was eating but when he pooped today there was some undigested carrots in it. Should I stop feeding them to him completely?

pretty much said but the two things that pop in mind right off the bat are carrots being fed only occasionally, and correct temps needed for basking, How much do you feed him at a time? and how do you serve it? I usually tank a few things to chop or put in processor socarrots are tiny and mixed with other stuff from romaine to carrots and bananas.

Well, I've only had Jayne a week today and I've been grateful if he eats anything. Yesterday he didn't eat any veggies and only a few crickets. He's too skinny to not feed insects to until he eats his veggies. I give him a great big bowl of collard greens every day and I have been finely chopping up one baby carrot in it. He would occasionally eat one or two small pieces of carrot and maybe a piece of green.

I have an Accurite digital thermometer in his tank. His hot side reads 80-82 and his basking spot is 105. His Reptisun 10.0 is brand new, inside his tank about 6 inches away.

I have that list printed out and on my kitchen bulletin board. I reference it anytime I put a food in there. He wasn't eating enough carrots that I even thought it was a big deal, but he was eating them. Thanks for the help!

Okay, well I think I figured out the issue of why he wasn't getting the right amount of heat. My husband had commented the other day that Jayne always sits on his cool side and was wondering if maybe it was because the cool side is brighter. I thought that might be it, so we raised his basking lamp up higher so we could make it brighter. It seems to be working, he's been on the hot side now for a long time. Now we have to fiddle with the dimmer to make the temps high enough. Right now it's only at 91. Thanks for the help everyone! Hopefully he digests his food a little better now.

Awesome, good find :D

And don't be too surprised if he doesn't eat alot in the first couple of weeks. He's going thru some relocation stress and normally goes away in about week or two.

Well, yesterday I offered him a variety of veggies that I had in the house that I saw were on the safe list. He nibbled a little at some tomato and cucumber. (A small bite or two, nothing major.) I still offer him a big bowl of collard greens everyday as well. When my husband came home and did 'cricket time' he ate 26 of them! The best part is, he can eat and still be in his basking light. I think he's warming up to us, slowly.

Also, his lights have been on for 45 minutes and he's still in bed! Lazy bum! lol

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
