its not just one person posting about it. iv seen babies at petco torn apart by tank mates not to mention all the poor dragons on craigslist that have missing body parts and my little athena (R.I.P) had 2 legs bitten off by her tank mate.

i also see that your baby already has a tail nip so shes already been picked on by her TANK MATES.

Don't get me wrong I love my Zoe but if it worked for so many other people and one guy post about dragons fighting and you guys don't even know who it is then why r u guys trusting this one guy and what ***** takes a pic of dragons fighting what does he watch them do it see me though I would make sure I had enough money to buy a sec tank first

This is going to make me sound like a jerk but at this point you are acting exactly like a 13 year old. I don't know what we expected...maybe for you to actually care about your pets, which it sounds like you don't. It sounds like all you care about is Zoey and getting ZOEY more reptiles so she can have the most dragons, even though she doesn't understand the first thing about caring for them properly, and apparently isn't even willing to learn.
That's all I'm going to say. I'm not going to waste any more of my time trying to convince you to do the right thing when you seem to be so dead set on stubbornly insisting that you somehow know more than the collective community here.

Good luck little girl, I hope your dragons don't die but I'm not holding my breath.

There are 3 babies at our local reptile shop missing 1/2 of their tails. There is a 2-month old beardie missing a front hand, and an adult male that lost 1/2 his tail at the shop from a female he was housed with.

So this is 5 animals wounded by cohabitation in ONE reptile shop. Think about all the dragons and shops all over the USA, start adding up all the missing tails and legs, and think about YOUR dragons and how much you care about them.

My own dragons are not worth the risk. I would be devastated if one of them lost a tail or leg or was otherwise injured. I would be so upset.

Your 13? By your posts I wouldn't of even given you that, I thought maybe 8. You shouldn't have the care of animals in your hands if your not even capable of caring for yourself. i don't know why I'm even wasting my breath trying to tell you what everyone else already has, but you really are immature for even being 13. I know 13 year olds that take wonderful care of beardies, but the difference is they put their animals needs before their wants.
When you do decide to grow up, it will probably be too late for your dragons. I would never wish harm on any dragons, but I hope something happens to make you realize.
So when one of them bites the others foot off, are your parents prepared to pay a 1000$ emergency vet bill because of your mistakes? Because
Obviously your not going to be the one paying for it, since you are 12. But I guess that's why you don't care.

Works for so many people? You do realize that the reason so many breeders have babies with tail and toe nips are free cause they house the babies together right? And adults can cause serious damage to each other, and even if they don't fight you will likely have one dragon who is too stressed to eat or bask. Beardies are NOT social with each other, why bother risking it?

@OP: If you want anyone to take you seriously, you need to act more mature. I'm 17 so I'm not all that much older than you, but the way you behave makes a huge difference in how people are going to treat you.

It's not just a couple people who have had their beardies injured by housing them together. Dudley's previous owner housed him with a female. Now Dud is missing a good 4" or so of his tail, the female is missing half of hers, and she is missing a leg too. She is also half the size of Dudley. Dud actually doesn't seem to mind being around other beardies, but they can snap at any time.

In your other thread, I also noticed that you don't have your lighting and set-up figured out yet, and you were worried about Zoey being too small. Housing beardies together can stress them out to the point that it stunts their growth, so if you keep her with another beardie she will be even smaller. Plus, if you aren't able to get proper lighting, how are you going to afford twice the food? A $1000 vet bill if one of them needs a chewed off leg amputated? A 4x2x2 is considered the recommended minimum for ONE beardie. You will need a MUCH bigger cage if you even want to think about housing two of them.

Jess is the main reason I still have hope for the youth these days....

OP, you're 13 and you act younger than that. Stop being selfish, there I said it. You're being completely selfish with what you WANT and not even considering what a bearded dragon NEEDS, which in this case are two polar opposites.

Fact: bearded dragons are solitary animals and territorial
Fact: when two males are confronted, they will fight to the death for the territory
Fact: when multiple bearded dragons are housed together, dominance is established (arm waving, head bobbing, stacking ontop of one another competing for more light--it's not them hugging and being cute)
Fact: when multiple bearded dragons are housed together, fighting WILL occur
Fact: you will not be watching them EVERY minute of the day to pull them apart if they start fighting (when you sleep, when you're at school, when you're out with family/friends)

You're denying all these facts that SCIENTIST have dedicated their lives to study. You know, they do publish this information in books.

You're 13 but now you have a life to take care of that's not your own so you can't think like a 13 year old with that life. Do what all responsible mature adults do and research proper care of bearded dragons from scientist, vets, etc. Germ, Jess, Tastiger, all the mods/admins here, soo many other members here all know this information we are trying to give you from experience. They've experienced all the heart break and witnessed enough from dragons being housed together, it's best to listen to them.

Best of luck to your dragons, I hope you make the right decision for them and not you.

Putting two beardies of any age or any gender in a confined space together is a risk. Even in the wild they wind up with injuries, so the smaller the space, the more competition and the higher the chance of one or both getting mauled or killed. A 4 foot by 2 foot enclosure is what is recommended for ONE adult, so for two adults, you would need a minimum of 12 foot by 6 foot so that they have sufficient space to get away from one another. That isn't practical, is it? And even that size is a risk 1000 times greater than one beardie per cage. Unless you have the entire continent of Australia in your living room, there is no good excuse for cohabitation.

Lots of people take risks every day, people ride motorcycles and horses without helmets, people ride in cars without seatbelts, or drive drunk, or any number of other UNDENIABLY STUPID things. These stupid people are not all dead, but do you want to be one of them? Do you want your pets to suffer and maybe die because you are stubborn?

It isn't fair. If you want to gamble with your life, that is fine, but your animals don't have any choice but to be the victims of your stupidity. You can make them suffer, limit their quality of life and impose your rationalizations on them, and they will survive or not, but you are preventing them from thriving and from getting the best quality of life possible, and that should be a crime when the solution is so dreadfully simple.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
