Would it be bad to but a beardie that has a toe nip from a breeder? it looks like she is missing 2 toes on a back foot. i was just wondering if i shouldnt buy her because of this. she look good otherwise she is 9"
Not a big deal at all, it's almost impossible to prevent a nip here and there. I have a boy with a nipped back foot, as I was throwing feeders in every corner of the bin, I watch him run by another dragon going after a dubia and his foot went right in the others mouth. It wasn't even a bad bite, but beardies are extremely sensitive to loss of blood flow and it looks like he may lose most of it. Most toe and tail nips happen when babies are very tiny and their extremeties are super small, so you can understand how easy it would be to lose a toe or tail tip that is 1mm wide!
My 1 1/2 yr old female beardie has at least one toe missing off each foot, and also just has one toe on her back right foot. (not sure of circumstances as i have only had them 5 weeks) She also has the tip of her tail missing too
Yup, my girl is missing one toe nail. You can't tell unless you are really studying her feet. It doesn't hinder her in anyway, she's constantly climbing something!
Wave has one toe on her back foot almost completely missing. Hasn't bothered her a bit, and her breeder was superb. Not a problem at all, as others have said.
