I need suggestion on where to buy crickets... The closest pet store is hour and a half away and expensive. I'm posting on feeders too wasn't sure exactly where to go...

I also have a Dubia colony. Right now my little guy is still adjusting to his new home. The crickets are actually slower when I pull back legs off.

Have you thought about looking in that direction?

Dubias are definitely an awesome option if you don't like the expense of buying crickets every week or two, but to get a good colony going it does cost a little bit initially. To start a colony, expect to buy no fewer than 100 mixed size dubias to feed and breed for a while. It's important to have enough that they replenish themselves without you having to skip feeding for too long. What I have heard of several people doing is having two bins, and just alternate which bin they feed from.
Dubias are fanastic, no noise, minimal smell, and they DON'T CLIMB GLASS! Several staff members (myself included) keep and breed dubias at home. I keep my colony in a large rubbermaid storage tub, and just toss leftover greens and other veggies in there from time to time. Super, super easy to maintain, and everything loves eating them!
LLL can ship crickets right to your door, and we have a 3 day guarantee on healthy arrival.
Thank you for the help! I appreciate it! I checked out your website just have a Few questions, Do the roaches climb the rubbermaid box?? how often to they breed and hatch(or what ever they do)? I'm a bit squirmish about them. Nothing else bothers me, just roaches lol... I'd really prefer to have less stinky critters...
