I need suggestion on where to buy crickets... The closest pet store is hour and a half away and expensive. I'm posting on feeders too wasn't sure exactly where to go...

I'm getting away from cickets all together and moving on to Dubia Roaches. Their are plenty of breeder who will ship Dubia to your home and you can breed them fairly easy yourself. They are quieter then crickets and don't smell.

Have you thought about looking in that direction?

I have ordered from Ghann, LLLReptile, and Premium Crickets. All have been excellent.
I also have a Dubia colony. Right now my little guy is still adjusting to his new home. The crickets are actually slower when I pull back legs off. :)

I did this when I first got Toothless. All back legs came off, Dusted them and put them in a bowl next to the basking rock. He ignored them for a long long while then, in less then 1 minutes 30 Crix gone.

OH, YES!! The ones I listed above are online. Get a 20 gallon tank with screen top, egg cartons, water crystals, and chow. Can easily keep 1000. :)

We carry crickets, and roaches too.

Dubias are definitely an awesome option if you don't like the expense of buying crickets every week or two, but to get a good colony going it does cost a little bit initially. To start a colony, expect to buy no fewer than 100 mixed size dubias to feed and breed for a while. It's important to have enough that they replenish themselves without you having to skip feeding for too long. What I have heard of several people doing is having two bins, and just alternate which bin they feed from.

Dubias are fanastic, no noise, minimal smell, and they DON'T CLIMB GLASS! Several staff members (myself included) keep and breed dubias at home. I keep my colony in a large rubbermaid storage tub, and just toss leftover greens and other veggies in there from time to time. Super, super easy to maintain, and everything loves eating them!

LLL can ship crickets right to your door, and we have a 3 day guarantee on healthy arrival.

Thank you for the help! I appreciate it! I checked out your website just have a Few questions, Do the roaches climb the rubbermaid box?? how often to they breed and hatch(or what ever they do)? I'm a bit squirmish about them. Nothing else bothers me, just roaches lol... I'd really prefer to have less stinky critters...

I bought some Dubia for my baby beardie. I hate bugs period. They are super easy to take care of and feed. Just don't buy too many of them at first. Make sure your beardie likes them. Mine won't eat them from a bowl. She likes to hunt, so they have to be scurrying all over the place for her. I do crickets and Dubia. Now if she'd only eat her reptiworms! Too boring for her I guess.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
