beardie non-stop trying to climb the glass!!!!!!!!!!!

hes been trying to climb the glass for about a day n a half now, is he ok?

It's called "glass dancing". I'm not sure why they do it. Are your temps ok? Is the tank clean? If he's not trying to get away from anything, and your husbandry is good, then sit back and enjoy! :mrgreen:

tank is clean, temps ok, but, when i first got him, he pooped every other day, now, its everyday, sometimes twice a day!

I know Ollie does that when she is in the tub, and sometimes in the viv. Not always on the glass, sometimes in the back. It upsets me because they look so frantic. Like they are trying to get away from something.
I know how you feel, because that frantic, escape looking behavior makes me think something is wrong.
I guess you need to relax.

Does he have anything to climb on? Maybe he's bored and needs some vertical entertainment, like rocks or branches. My dragon glass-dances, too, but i find he stops as soon as he sees me in the room. If it's a young/new beardie, he may just be testing his boundaries to see if there really isn't any way to escape. Or, he's releasing energy, getting some exercise!

what sex is your dragon? I know that my male does this a lot when he his hormones are increased and he is trying desperately to find a female or fight off any other males that might be around.
Also gravid females that are ready to lay do this sometimes trying to find some sand to dig in.
Could be one of these issues, or as previously mentioned, just adventurous

I find that my beardie glass climbs just before she has a poo, I dont know why that is but I know when she throws herself at the glass there will be a poo not long after.

I take mine out of his home let him roam around while i chase behind him or watch him. I figure he wants to get out, So i let him.

My male does this also, its usually accompanied by running around like a madman too

foxy does this when she wants out....after shes out a while and i put her back in her room she goes on her log and heats her self up

My girl actually does that when she has to go poo also. She does not like poo in her house :bleick: . She usually poos in the shower, but if she accidently goes in her viv(which is very rare) she has a fit and frantically wants out....enter glass dancer !!!

Ya, my Naga does the same thing! He also does it when he wants out. They are pretty smart animals! He also did it when I moved his viv he was very upset with me, so I had to put him back where he was. LOL They do it when they are upset I think.
