Beardie nails always cut me :(

Do you guys cut your beardies nails? If so how? Idk of my beardie is big enough yet. His nails are super long but still tiny. He’s only 5 months now.

You only need to take 1 - 2mm off the end of each nail , I never take more . I simply give lizard a snuggle and get it really relaxed and sleepy / comfy then I gently trim each toe nail using bird nail scissors. My gang never mind , not even little guys like my water skink Fluffy who is only 20g.

i keep my beardies nails sharp so she can climb with out falling. she often gets 6-8 feet off the floor on her climbing posts/netting. when she scratches me i will grab her hand and hold it for a couple seconds, ive done that since she was 3 months old. now over a year later she is very gentle while climbing or walking over me, very rarely will she scratch

<<< risky .... if she falls .... unless you have very thick soft carpet , she will be seriously injured when she hits the hard unforgiving floor surface.

i have never seen her fall unintentionally. she routinely jumps about 4 or 5 feet from objects to the floor but she has never fallen from one of her climbing perches. she enjoys being up high at times, she even sleeps hanging vertical on her towers or outside hanging on her screen. she has carpet to land on inside and a spring board outside
