Beardie bath

Exactly how are you suppossed to give a bearded dragon a bath? And how often should they get one? I just put him In a tub of warm water and let him flop around , and then he just soak.. Any suggesstions would be appreciated..

Sounds like you're doing it correctly =). For little ones I use a tupperware container full of warm water (up to the elbows or so) and with adults I use a turkey roasting pan filled up to the elbows or so as a bathtub because they're portable and easy to clean. You can use a sink or any other container that fits too though. Whatever works best for you. I suggest baths maybe once or twice a week to provide an opportunity to drink and to help clean your dragon up a bit. I provide baths daily as part of a morning routine for cleaning and to help regulate poops.

Cool.. Thanks.. I'll try twice a week.. Just recently he's felt like walking through his poop.. So I want to make sure he stays clean.

Yeah baths should help with that. If he gets really dirty you can add a little bit of mild castile soap (I use Dr Bronner's Baby Mild Unscented soap) for some extra cleaning power as needed. I've found that as they get older they respond well to routine so if you provide baths at around the same time of day he'll get used to pooping in the bath and used to pooping at around the same time every day and eventually it will be rare for him to poop in the tank if he gets to come out at pooping time. MUCH easier to manage =)
