Beardie ate nail clipping!

I was trimming my finger nails with my beardie out. Stupid me forgot they eat whatever they decide to and before I could get it out of his mouth he ate one of the clippings! what do I do? Will he be ok??

How big was it and was there any nail polish on it? I'm not an expert, but if it was relatively small, I imagine s/he will just pass it. you might help him or her by giving some apple (no skin) and/or canned pumpkin (which can act as a beardie laxative), you might even put a drop or two of olive oil on either to help the passing. Make sure you give a warm bath, and keep the dragon hydrated. All these strategies can help ease the passing of something in the digestive track. Good luck and I hope s/he poops really soon!

If there was nail polish on the clipping, I'd call an animal poison control about possible poisoning from the chemicals. I know sometimes folks use charcoal tablets to offset such things, but I defer to others' experience and wisdom on that front.

Just wanted to say that I hope he'll be OK!

It will PROBABLY pass straight through, depending on how big the clipping was, and how big your beardie is.

Giving him stuff to help it through, is all you can do right now.

Nothing screams out "get to ER!" Unless baby had literally drunk the nail polish, so I'm guessing it SHOULD be OK to just help it pass quicker.

Let us know how you get on.

It'd be good if you could dissect the next few poops to ensure it goes through. If it hadn't come through in about a week, I'd call your vet for advice.

Luckily there was NO polish on it! Spaz is about 17-18 inchs long and the clippig was just like the corner of a nail. He seems ok, nothing weird. I'm giving him bathes a lot. I'll feed him what you said! Thank you guys so much ))
