A U.S. House committee has already approved HR 1981, a broad new Internet snooping bill.
it's authored by SOPA sponsor Lamar Smith.

They want to force Internet service providers to keep track of and retain their customers' information -- including name, address, phone number, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, and temporarily-assigned IP addresses.

Okay, again, the aim of this law is a good one. It is supposed to help track down child pornography but again all internet service providers and all internet service users should not be dealing with this mess. Yes, my ISP has my name and address and they even have a credit card number for me and an IP. They don't need to keep track of any/every credit card I use on line nor my bank accounts. For one thing, they can only barely keep my service up and running! I'm sorry. I don't trust them to keep my banking info all in one place nor do I think they have a right to do so. NOR do I feel I should be treated like a criminal just because they hope to catch one. I'm sick of this. Law enforcement can already request information per almost every user agreement in existence to collect information about people who may be committing crimes on line. I can see no transparent reason for this law? Can anyone see one? Here is some copy/paste information that includes contact info if you wish to get involved.

I'm going to keep posting any for of internet censorship that I am made aware of...until you all tell me to knock it off. I hope that's okay.

This legislation is appalling, and it's already passed through committee.

Feel free. I think this one thread is an appropriate place to add stuff about that. It's a topic I certainly tend to follow, being a supporter of EFF and a right to privacy (which we sorely lack with how U.S. laws are structured in those regards). It's also not far from my own career, given I work as an information security analyst.

I completely agree, this bill it absolutely outrageous & threatens to take away SO many freedoms that most of us take for granted.
It goes in line with the tracking & tracing they want to do on us to force us to have to submit biometric data just to log onto the internet to have our stupid goverment ID. They will decide who & who cannot access the internet as well as what can be viewed & what must be taken down to "Protect Us". Yeah right, they always sugar coat it claiming they are doing it for good intent but really it is only to push through legislation to further tax us to oblivion & take our rights away.
It is utterly disgusting that any of the Congress & Senate are still even in office, why is that? Most of them have a rap sheet that would put a lot of criminals to shame!
They do not need to know everything you do on the internet or everywhere you go, that is for sure. Why don't we start demanding to know what THEY are up to instead? Our government has turned our police & miltary into a stazi to spy on the citizens.
This is shameful but not very many people really know much about it, unfortunately. This is just as bad as the so called fake "War on Terror" only, where are the terrorist?? Ha, they are the ones running the government.

I got a copy of "How do you kill eleven million people?" And it is downright terrifying. Takes 20 minutes or so to read the part that matters (first 60% of the book). Every citizen NEEDS to read this book. Afterwards turn on the news and truly listen to what is going on. People called me a conspiracy nut, then read this book. Now they say "can u show me that link again?"

Who wrote that book? Have you read exerps from the book EcoScience written by none other than John P. Holdren the Science zcar of the white house in the 70's or 80's saying exactly HOW they are planning on exterminating the population or dumbing them down??

My congressman is awesome! Connie Mack. And one of my senators is Marco Rubio. The two of them are fighting like mad up there. My other senator is a total waste of time. Bill Nelson. Ugh. He is such a joke. But Connie Mack is running to take his seat this year. That would be killer. Rubio and Mack as our two senators? Conservative as it gets. Plus, this guy named Trey Reidel (spelling might be off) is running for Connie Mack's house seat. He is so fantastic. There are like 5 people running for the seat, but it really comes down between him and this attorney that I really don't like.

Anyway, sorry for the sidetrack. Point was kinda that I tend to stay on top of the government. Did I mention that my family has been in politics since I was a tiny little thing? :roll: Sometimes I wish I could experience how the rest of the world lives. What is that saying? Ignorance is bliss? Hmmmmmm... Must be nice.

I already have. I have made calls already & stay abreast of all of this! If only more people would become more active as it takes more than just a few....
Hitler used fluoride in the water to make everyone docile along with using fear by burning down the Reichstag building to inflict fear. Prescott Bush was very good friends & colleagues to Hitler which is where a lot of the ideals came into play into the Western world.

I hope everyone uses this opportunity to fight for our futures!
