bath time

Do beardys swim underwater? Or do they just skim the top of the water? Deja is doing what it looks like starting to swim. But Im hoping that he will get into it and swim under water.

I have a dragon that swims the length of a jacuzzi bath tub. She LOVES being under the running water and would stay there all day if we let her. She does put her head under and swim, all arms and legs back, tail swishing like an alligator. Out of 9 dragons, she is the only one like that. She truly loves her bath!

I have yet to bath my beardy... I am afraid she will freak out, because Ive had her for quite a long time but I have not taken her out of her tank because I am afraid of her running away.. but how often do they need to be bathed?

beauford ker plunks his arms to the faucet end when the water is running until he is under the running water and then straight under water, legs back and head level with the bottom of the tub, swims under water back to the other end and does it again.......he scared me the first time he swam under the running water but apparently he enjoys it because he keep doing it.....

How long have you had her? Most dragons really enjoy being with us and riding on our shoulders, etc. I think you are really missing out by not interacting with your dragon outside of her viv. She should have a bath at least a few times a week for proper hydration.

i agree with negative creep....beuf now loves his bath so much, he refuses to relieve himelf in his viv......he knocks on the door until i take him out, he now waits on a towel in the sinnk and watches the tub fill. he screws around for about ten minutes and then he goes to the shallow end (and relieves himself)then bath time is over..... at least every other day we do this.... needless to say the brand new tub in my house is probably the cleanest in the county because it gets a thorough bleaching evertime he is done....... and lets be real i like it in there too........ although i don't share beaufords way of letting everyone know i am done....lol

I agree I also bathe my dragons 3-4 times a week!!!

i use a deep bowl for my beadies bath(hes a youngen) an set a rag over the edge so he can get out when he wants but he usually falls asleep in his bath for a while... i read that baths are suppose to induce pooping but all it does for him is induce sleep
