Basking spot opinions

Which of these would be better? If i make the stone one i would not use pebbles..It says to use silicone to glue the stones together..Is that ok?

Myself, I would prefer the stone one as that holds warmth better but then again, wood does too to a degree (hah, get the pun I just made?). I would imagine silicone adhesive to be safe unless someone else here can point out a reason for it not to be so, as it generally is regarded as being non-toxic towards Humans at least. I believe it's used in plumbing and such where it may come into contact with other substances that are going to be eaten and/or have had a drink of.
